the most prevellant weapon would be the AKM, it is just the AK47 in a product improved model that was issued like rice-to everyone
it came in around seven punds empty, a little over eight loaded with a thirty round magazine. it iwas a 7.62x39mm, about 2400 feet per second at the muzzle, about as powerful as a .30-30 hunting rifle. good for about 300 yards in the right hands, or about 75 yards in the hands of most russian soldiers.

Filthy captalist lies! Our heroic soldiers can hit their targets at 75 METERS!
