ALL of you know this, but I am the ONLY one to tell the guy that he's fos about his CLAIM of being able to do this. I have $5000 to his $500, that says he can't stay with me, running with 50 lbs of gear, and I am an office worker, 51 years old. :-) I have a nice mountain trail right outside my back door, here in SW CO, and my backpack and its sandbags see regular use.

You wouldn't laugh at anybody, because while we're running around with our 100lbs of gear and bust our teeth, you'll be out of breath at the 25yd line with 50lbs of gear.

Verbs don't agree with nouns. Subjects change randomely, and do you even know what .223 is in metric? Or, more precisely, what is the official gov't designation of the .223 Remington and what are 2 other .223 rifle cartridges? Bet 223 fan can't answer either.

REAL survival U stupes ain't humping your own gear but all I really need if I have to is 85 rounds of .223 a case of Slim Jims jerkey some peanut butter and a jar of tang. Less than 35 pounds U stupes. For the cold I can always break into any house and insulate myself with saran wrap.

I've humped 100lbs before, but during a SHTF situation loads of that capacity would be saved for things like portages.

Anyone who plans in the least will have some sort of transportation.
