about guns and shooting. She's an ER nurse, ICU qualified, makes $30 an hour. She'd laugh you out of town if she read your bs claims about me. If I asked, she'd help me bury a dead man's cadaver, cause she knows I'd do the same for her. She's 47, has 5 kids, most grown, and is a lovely lady.

You mean the one from the institution?

They are instructed to go along with your dilutions, don't you know.

I suspect your nurse friend may be 'sandbagging' you regarding her pay. My wife's a microbiologist in a local hospital lab (in Arkansas, no less), and makes over $30 an hour. Admittedly, she's been doing it for 20 years.

Nurses make very good money, almost always more than the lab people. Experienced nurses make "very" good money. ;)

u can't even SPELL "delusions", twit

Well, I guess I just don't have as much experience with the word as you do. I'm sure you see that word on a daily basis.

Good, we'll get her to hide your CADAVAR.

TARD, I seriously doubt it you have ever had a stable interpersonal relationship with any person. Sociopaths never develop friends type relationships with other people. The sociopath always victimizes those, who are foolish enough to think they can be friends.

Gunkid, is this the same nurse who taught you to pour BOILING WATER over your self inflicted gunshot wound in your foot? Some nurse! Does she talk to your sock puppet too?

I had no money for peroxide or iodine, and such antiseptics are VERY harsh on that sort of deep, badly abraded wound. I "met" her (via letters) many years after that incident. I first met her in person in 1998, and we stay in touch, at least weekly.

AD's (actually, "ND's" - Negligent Discharges - would be more accurate) happen to a lot of people. We're human and we screw up.

I've had two ND's; one of which put me in the hospital.

Accidents, operator error, whatever label we want to use, can happen to anyone. The more you endulge in a given activity, the more opportunity for mistakes. That's true of guns, cars, motorcycles, chainsaws, whatever.

One man I know, who was the #2 IPSC shooter in the world in the 1980's, put a round thru his knee at a match. This guy made his living with his gun, and still screwed up.

It happens.

John:
Do you mean there is HOPE, that our Melvin might screw up again?

I'm just saying that given a large enough sample-base of experiences, some of those experiences are going to be fouled up; by either mechanical or human malfunction. Laughing at someone for an ND is the same (IMO) as laughing at someone for accidentally (or "negligently") putting their car in a ditch. When I was a child or even a teenager, I did laugh at people for things like that. I rarely do anymore.

I'm not looking for a fight from either side here. There's enough of those in the real world; I don't need any in some cyber world.

Yes, GK is often abrasive and repetitive, but it doesn't really affect my life one way or the other. While I try to avoid being abrasive, I've been repetitive myself, with the babblings about .454's, .30Carbines, CZ .22 rifles, etc.

John, everybody screws up. I do more than my share sometimes.

It is one thing to have an AD/ND. Its quite another to brag about on a public forum without using the experience to teach an object lesson. For me at least, the laughter comes from his sheer stupidity of boasting - not the act itself.

Not trying to be argumentive, just my .02

Firearms, just like all other equipment, is safe unless you do something you're not supposed to be doing. AD/ND's occur because the operator made a mistake. If they're a good person and just made a simple mistake I won't be malicious towards them, but if you're a jackass who thinks you're THE "Gun God," I'll shove it in your face for the rest of your life. There are numerous safety procedures in place to prevent AD/ND's from occuring, INCLUDING the purchase and maintenance of quality products. Purchasing a poorly built firearm and having an AD from mechanical failure is still the fault of the operator because he failed to purchase quality goods.

There are similar problems in my current field (welding). The equipment is safe, until somebody fails to implement a safety protocol for ANY reason. More people are injured severly or killed (sometimes, several at a time) as a result of welding accidents than AD/NDs.

Anyway, most AD's are preventable, so technically they're "incidental." You're right though, it is wrong to laugh at someone for making a mistake, but it's also wrong to come onto a public forum, initiated for the exchange of information and ideas in order to HELP other people, and refer to everyone as "stupe" or a "punk" or a "dummy." Making a mistake that gets yourself hurt won't force me to laugh at you, being a jackass and making a mistake that hurts yourself will.

Miller and Lincoln, only way to go.

Arc Welding, but, currently, I'm taking some sort of "welding intro" class (kind of makes me feel a little dumb), so I can have some experience in other forms. So far, it's stuff I already know (oxy/fuel cutting, and arc), but I start learning MIG next week.:D

My goal is to become an Automachenic, and I start working on my AAS on Aug 6, when I move to Colorado. :D

John we've all probably had AD or NDs for one reason or another. Some from op error some from malfunctioning guns.

The funny thing about the Tard is his superior uber weapons expert atitude. And then the fact he still has ADs like us mere mortals.:p

This is the nurse, that in one thread he claimed taught him so much about medicine and first aid, and yet in another thread denied claiming such.

You know, the threads he kept running from when both of his posts were included together to show how self-contradictory he is when he is caught in a lie.

I doubt very seriously that a nurse (or anyone capable of even remotely rational thought) would advocate puring boiling water on a wound, or even on non-wounded skin.

Water boils at, what?, 212 f? More than sufficient to cause 3rd degree burns. Basically you'd kill off a lot of tissue, make the wound worse, and invite gangrene.

You'd have been light years ahead to simply clean the wound and keep it clean while it healed than to cause further damage with boiling water.

This is why I think you're probably being less than truthful on the whole boiling water thing.

Oh, yeah - guess who!
