defense, and if it's 10" at 50 yds, it suffices for braced position, earplugs in place, covered AMBUSHES, in the real world, because that's as far as you're going to hit anybody, with enough regularity, when it's for BLOOD. I've studied handgun fighting for nearly 40 years, and I don't know of a SINGLE case wherein a guy got over 50% hits at longer ranges than 25 yds while he was being shot at, unless it was a one shot FLUKE. When you are ducking bullets, the accuracy just AINT THERE, man. even mini-revolvers and .25 autos have the ability to group 8" at 25 yds. Even most derringers will do so, using only the top barrel. :-) So a service auto's groupiing is basically an irrelevant issue. It's how FAST you are with it, inside 10 ft that REALLY matters, along with how hard it hits, and how well you control it, for mulitple shots, and how handy it is to ccw.

Geez 8" at 25 meters, my .44 Magnum Ruger Vaquero will do that! It must be a great survival gun, gunkid says so!!

DEFENSE, ACCURACY wise. I did NOT say it was adequately fast for repeat shots, OR that a handgun will suffice for shtf, stupid. NO handgun amounts to a rat's ass in a serious fighting or foraging sitution, when everyone else is using an autorifle, dummy. Your inability to read or reason is the most embarrasing thing I've ever seen, dummy.

You were obviously to stupid to read the post on how many men won the CMH with a pistol. I didn't say it was the "be all" of survival firearms, you did.
