Winchester has been acting like jerks and refuse to ship W231 into Canada unless quantities ordered equal 5,000 lbs or more. Anybody got a good load for .45 w/ a 200 grain LWC bullets and in .44 Mag and .44 Spl using 240 grain LSWC using a different powder? Currently I have Blue Dot, Red Dot and Unique in my propellant box.
any powder will blow the bullet out of the barrel. Since such bullets aren't any good for anything but practice, and since the revolver is a joke for any sort of serious shooting, any load oughta suffice.

Unlike you, dipstick some of us think in terms of accuracy and reliability! Mating a handload to a particular handgun gives both. Sorry, I forgot you haven't shot competition in 30 years, if ever.

Can you get H110? I've got some really good load data for that powder in a .44 mag and .45 WM.

With the bullets you have:
For the .45 - 6.0 to 6.2 grains Unique.
.44 Mag - 14.0 to 14.4 grains Blue Dot (Will lead barrel unless the bullet is gas checked).
.44 Special - 7.0 to 7.5 grains Unique.
I don't use Red Dot for much of anything anymore, so have no loads for it.

For the powders you listed:
44 Mag and .44 Spl using 240 grain LSWC using a different powder? Currently I have Blue Dot, Red Dot and Unique
.44 Spl:
(data for 240-gr. L-SWC C.O.L. 1.590" 7.5" SBH)
5.8 gr Unique ~ 770fps
9 gr Blue Dot ~ 800fps
4.6 gr. Red Dot ~ 720 fps
.44 Mag:
(data for 240-gr. L-SWC C.O.L. 1.600" 7.5" SBH)
7.3 gr Unique ~ 900 fps
6.2 gr Red Dot ~ 880fps
.45 Colt:
(I don't shoot 200-gr in .45 Colt, but here's data for 250-gr L-SWC, not sure if you have other bullets available: C.O.L 1.600" 5.5" Vaquero)
9.2 gr Unique ~ 920 fps
I prefer the Unique loads, YMMV

The .45 load I posted was for the .45 ACP not for the .45 Colt . I must have misunderstood:confused: .
