View Full Version : 5" 460 is 80 grs, 2200 fps, 4x the frontal
area of .22. Gee, that makes it EIGHT times as good as the load Jeff said would suffice.:-) 40 grs at 2200 fps is a pretty fair lick, but if it's a spitzer ball rd (Jeff didnt say anything about it being a softpoint in order to work as he claimed) it aint much, actually. 430 ft lbs. 80 grs at 2200 fps is of course 860 ft lbs. Now THAT'S pretty likely to be a disabling hit, even WITHOUT expansion or fragging of the bullet.

That is remarhable performance using Black powder!
this is a dead part of the forum, so I just use it as a place to have another subject heading, on a WORTHWHILE subject.

No, you're too stupid to keep topics where they belong and then claim some sort of special status when caught on it.
Plus, you wouldn't know a worthwhile topic if it bit you on your A**
black powder is even less useful than air guns, actually. At least the latter are quiet, easy to stow ammo for, don't have corrosion and misfire problems.
Airguns don't have a fraction of the power or the concealability of the black powder handgun.
