The Clinton Gun Ban (AWB) has just run out. We're a little bit more free than we were a few minutes ago, but we musn't rest on this good news. Let's make it one more victory on a long road.

You know GBullet,as much as I'm happy to see a stupid law go away,I fail to see a victory here. All I see is one bunch of lazy people(them) letting a law sunset that happens to benefit some other lazy people(us).I think that we(American gun owners)have all heard about how feeble "our" turnout is at the poles. There is no victory through inaction.

Just my opinion but I'll wait to "celebrate" when a law is actually overturned, say the '86 ban on new civie full auto or that ridiculous "minimum US parts count"nonsense. One I'd like to go for sure & ever is that ridiculous NICS thingy. There are others but you folks understand, yes?

GBullet? Please don't take the above as an insult for it was not intended as such.I've just read literally dozens of celebratory quips today & I feel that most have been written by lazy people(as I am) who just want to celebrate a paper "victory".

Know what I mean?

Yeah man. If you only fight defensive battles, you will always lose the war.

Time to get this NICS crap (ask the government permission first before buying a firearm) off the books as well. Then the GCA68 as well. The feds have no authority to force a FFL to do anything in relation to a local sale within a state's borders.

And I would certainly like to see those Executive Orders that have been passed here and there get the boot as well.

The only way this ban died is because there was a sunset clause. The other bans don't have that provision.

We all agree that the sunset clause was fortunate and that no "overturning" took place, but there is good news here. In my own conversations with anti's, they each admitted that they had planned a second, far more devastating law as the renewal.

Then we will have to win as many converts as possible among the rank and file and triple our own personal efforts.

Wasn't it just last week that Kerry accepted a semi-auto shotgun as a gift? One that would be banned by a bill he supports.
