and 90 gr 223 VLD still hits that hard at 1/2 a mile, yet whizz bangs like garnad CLAIM 223 bounces off of men at 300 yds. somebody's gotta be wrong here, and garnad's got 20 years of 'experience" in the blood-drenched Canadian military.

I'm still trying to find a source for these 90 grain VLD for target shooting, no luck as of yet, no even loading data. As for the combat experience of the Canadian Army in the last dozen years, Medak Pocket in Croatia and Afganistan have provided a wealth of it. As a matter of fact our Special Forces "JTF 2", was just awarded the US Presidential Unit Citation. See Gunkid, your wrong again !!! :nyah: :nyah: :nyah: :nyah:

Oh where to start? OK,
1.) 90 gr VLD in .223 doesn't exist, so it doesn't hit at all at 1/2 mile.
2.) VLDs from an AR won't feed from the magazine, so you have a single shot rifle, i.e useless for combat (or, as usefull as a Sharps, either way you want to look at it).
3.) If you DID use VLDs available for the .223, and you'd have a single shot, you have ONE hit, versus the .38's 5 or 6 shots, which will give you 125-1500 Ft-lbs, according to CowardKid's numbers.
4.)Your 10" POS won't get a VLD, or another round, on target at half a mile, so your "data" is both nonexistant and irrelevent.
5.) You STILL have to compare a RIFLE to a SNUB NOSED pistol to try to get your wet dream to look good.

.38: 5, fantasy POSgun: 0

How many months has he been going on about the non-existant VLDs after being told they don't exist?

He's never used or seen a VLD and that's clear from the crap he posts about notching the magazine to hold two of them.

NUTTY JOHN, I can see, by this post, this year will be the same as usual. You're starting out with the same old tired crap.

How miserable you existence must be ...

Why is this in the rifle section?

Thats a simple question, NUTTY JOHN doesn't comprehend the difference between a rifle, and a snub nosed thirty-eight.

Garand, tell NUTTY JOHN about the eight Canadian snipers who won the United States Bronze Star medal. While the only thing NUTTY JOHN has won is a criminal record ...

According to one source, in order to get one of these mythical 90 grain VLD's to feed through your magazine all you need is to carve away the front part of the magazine. Does anyone know of a source for this modification??

Stupekid is a LIAR. The .38 Snub top loads get over 300 fp. Not talking about super light weight bullets but 158gr lead simi-waddcuter hollow points. Of course gunkid is so ignorant of guns he does not even know that.

You see if he does not even know that then how would he know about .223 ballistics or just anything related to guns.

He's a real nitwit.

Gunkid misses the most important point, when it comes to self defence shooting. That point is Shot Placement! Without that all the "uber" bullets in the world don't mean a damn!

Melvin, your such a twit.

Tell that to the guys who went up the beach at Dieppe. I think it would be fun to watch a 90 year old man beat the daylights out of you.

And where did Garand say that .223 bounces off someone at 300yds? It only does that when it comes out of a "10 inch barrel Melvin.
