Exactly... the only thing I can think of is that it's a man-love thing and they want to have other people feel sorry for them? I.e. many times suicide is really a cry for help, for attention and by doing this they WILL get the attention they want and especially pity from the gay community.

Or, they might just be tired of working; IIRC HIV+ allows you to qualify for SSI and Section 8 housing. With the new drug cocktails, people are living a long, long time now and even recover from the flu, etc. a lot better.
