= "able to defend your home". HA, men CHARGE 30 ft and kill you will a hunk of angle iron in 2.5 seconds. :-) The guy will probably START at 10 ft or less, and abe all OVER you in 1 second flat.

A FAR more realisitic standard is react, raise the pistol, and hit at 6 ft, in .50 second, and even that might well not be fast enough, especially if you are using a lame assed load like .45 ball ammo.

You see both what you say and what you claim Jeff Cooper (I guess I am assuming he is whom you meant) means very little because neither one of the statements describes the situation. Is the attacker pointing a firearm at you, is he in the act of squeezing one off, is he holding a knife, a baseball bat, is he stationary, is he retreating, is he charging you? What about you, is the gun in the holster, in the belt, in your pocket, in your waistband under your flabby gut, in the hand already? What about the situation - did you just wake up with an intruder in your home, is it light, is it dark, how dark or light is it, what condition are you in, what condition is the assailant in, is there concealment, is there cover, can you escape harm by other than shooting. All I ever hear here is a lot of bull**** when it comes to your so called tactical expertise. I would love to see you draw, get on target, in the dark, on a fit assailant who is moving fast across from your weak to strong side, who is blasting at you with any type of firearm - especially a 12 gauge semi auto shotgun loaded with buck shot - or better yet with number 6. I do not respond to many of your posts anymore because so many are so ridiculous but every now and then I just cannot resist chiming in. Bull****, is how I see your post above, and bull**** is how I call it. You seemingly don't have a clue when it comes to a tactical situation, all you apparently depend upon is your timer and shooting against the clock without any tactical training. When you shoot a tactical course of fire, or actually have to be ready to shoot at something other than paper, maybe you will learn something. But since you apparently don't really shoot at anything, because of your supposed felony convictions, please stop trying to claim your self as the all knowing gun guru and; please stop the bull****, my shovel is broken.
