are just jokes. Why not just use your slingshot in your backyard, if all your "shooting" is about is "fun"? Why bother to make all that noise, set up claybird thrower, etc?

Yep, they're jokes. Great jokes. I think it's hilarious, that is, the look on the face of the dope-pusher as the OOO rips through his chest.

Laugh every time.

I was unfortunate enough to have a very gruesome picture sent to me the other day on msn; a very-ex-friend (after this) thought the photo was very funny (I dont have much time for people who enjoy this kind of thing).

It was a guy who had blown his brains out with a shotgun, looks like he sucked on it (it couldnt have been anything else). The whole top of his head was liberally spread over the sidewalk, like butter on bread.

Yeah, shotguns sure are a joke. Hardy har...

Yep, seen that pic also. Shows how truly ineffective shotguns are eh?
Also seen plenty of "live action" with them". That's why they are so feared, anyone cut down with one isn't just killed, they are seriously maimed by it. No open casket for Leroy the drug dealer's mommy.

Yeah, right. . .

Yeah... I have seen some seriously gory stuff, and probably could have eaten through it (or shortly after), but that picture really got to me. I think it was because I had no warning, it just came up and all of a sudden I was looking into what was left of a guys skull.

I know this is completely off topic, but sometimes I do wonder about this whole "desensitizing" thing in kids. I dont believe video games do it though, thats rediculous. I think the news does it. Every kid in the western world watched 3000 people disappear in the blink of an eye on 9/11. We see palestinians and isrealis gunning eachother down in real-time. Soldiers burning in the streets in Baghdad.

Its ****ing madness.

If they are such a joke, then why do most LEO's carry them with thier riot gear? All they have to do is rack it and the crowd scatters like roaches when the light comes on.

Although I may be new to this forum, I have come to the unavoidable conclusion that this Andy character is a hydrosyphalic moron. If the shotgun is such a "joke", why then am I required by the Navy to re-qualify on it yearly (I wish it was weekly)? Why is it when I was a civilian LEO I had to qualify on it every six months? Why is it Andy, that I, an educated man, have one ready to go in my house? Funny thing is, all I read about in your posts is how superhumanly brave, intelligent, and knowledgable you are, yet I have put more intelligent people than you in jail. As for your philosophy on "combat", come and talk to me when you stare the elephant in the face, walk away, and are issued your T-shirt. You don't know the first thing about weapons or weaponcraft. You are just one more tiny insignificant blowhard who vomits out bad advice and slings verbal darts at actual intelligent people merely because that is the only way you can get anyone to pay you any mind. I feel thouroughly disgusted at myself for falling so willingly into your little game. Anyway, as for shotguns, if they are such a joke, why is it Marines, sailors, soldiers, and police officers alike, still carry them into harms way? Next time you feel like spouting off your infantile drivel, go do it on your own forum, from what I have read, it's the only place you're taken seriously. Of course that could be due to the fact that you are the only one who reads anything posted there. This sailor will continue to practice, practice, practice, with that "joke" of a weapon lovingly referred to as a scattergun. Who knows, maybe next year I can run the three minute qual course in 50 seconds instead of 52. Keep on sprayin' and prayin' little man....leave the real combat up to the real warriors.

Well said MHS. Andy does in fact have his own site where he talks to himself through his multiple personas. Its not very popular though because he bans anyone who dares to disagree with him.

Had one of those once..16 year-old kid.. The REALLY sad part was the mother screaming at us to "Do something for him"...There's just NO way you can tell a hysterical mother that with NOTHING left above the jawline..her son is WAY beyond any help on This side. It was REAL hard to keep my sympathy for her though when 3 months later I got served with the "Goddamn cops let my son Die and didnt do anything to help him" Lawsuit...Interesetingly she never bothered to give the Attorney any REAL information about the incident before he took her case (and retainer). I was there when he came in to view the file....Luckily they gave him all copies, since he puked all over the file box when he saw the first picture.

Ummm took the words right outta my mouth. This Andy character seems like he doesn't know too much about combat but yet tries to pass on some bad advice like a used car dealer. I'm all for freedom of speech but freedom of stupidity is another issue. I know I'm a noob here but when someone that thinks he's a know-it-all but knows nothing just gets to me.

Wait until he talks about his ideal guard dog - the de-barked chihuahua and how good it is to eat "long pig".

That explains why he lasts about 2 days between 3-day "Vacations" from posting.....

Sounds like the noise may scare someone.

Sporting clays are fun, as is a round of 5-stand.

Wing shooting is an enjoyable way to spend a morning whether it be dove, quail, or grouse.

Setting up a thrower is easy. IF it's fun, who cares? Why does it bother you that someone can have fun doing something?

And we do also set up the slingshots and blowguns in our back yards as well.

In the house, I'll take the 870 every time. If there's a better choice, I'm open to suggestions.
