Thanks for the great idea Aslan and thank you for putting the place together rich.

So what shall our first task be? Anyone thinking about this being like a weekly thing, mabye a montly large thing? What shall be proper posting procedure? How many individuals/range officers must sign the targets? Is posting a pic of weapon sitting on target mandatory as well (ive seen it done @ some places to show a pistol match participant wasnt using a rifle or bolt action pistol)? Will each event dictate if handloads are allowed, or is ammo open-class? Can I use my dedicated match/tactical rifle (the LRPT) for the matches, or is that cheating (rifle compensates for ALOT of things and shoots like a laser, spoils me rotten)?

Just throwing some questions out there to try and see what the protocalls going to be and see what rules we can stick up. Thanks again for pushing for the forum Aslan.

I want to thank you too. Think it will be both fun and a challenge.

This should be good. I wouldn't think that you need to "prove" what you are using. I think that for most of us, our word is good, and if not, who cares? All posting a photo of the pistol on the target would prove is that you put a pistol on a target you shot with a rifle. If someone wants to lie, that's just pathetic. This should be for fun, and as long as you post what you used, shouldn't be any harm: ie "I don't have a semi - so here's my photo from a bolt under the same criteria". I think everyone here who will participate will abide by either the rules or fess up to what they actually did.

Ok, here's my idea.

Anyone can come up with a challenge. They get to post the rules for that challenge. But, to avoid dragging things out forever, all challenges must have a time limit.

I agree, we either operate on complete trust of everyone, or we don't do this at all.

The minimal evidence required in my opinion, is simply a picture of the target.

I have no doubt that if someone wanted to forge a signature or two, they could. Hell, I have a scan of the president's signature somewhere I could photoshop into a picture.

I also think we should only have one thread per challenge. The first post in the thread should define the challenge. subsequent posts should either be questions on the challenge - like clarification of rules. Or they should be the results.

If we want to talk trash to each other, maybe we can keep a trash talk thread. Otherwise it gets too messy trying to figure out what's what....

what do y'all think?

Now, Rich is being very generous with this forum, so we should keep it polite. Trash talk is ok, but the nasty stuff should be left at the door.

I fully expect to get my butt kicked by a few of you, especially on the long range stuff, but it will be fun to see how it goes.

If it takes off, we might even escalate it to the point where there might be a prize or two awarded...

stranger things have happened.

I would think the trash talk should be kept to the Rubber Room.

I'd prefer that this place be kept to postal matches and other challanges related to shooting and outdoor sporting or SHTF activities/skills.
