First, thank you for not getting mad at my corny jokes.

Next, I'm really bummed out. Feel like I've been horsewhipped mentally emotionally and physically. Perhaps dinner and a good nights sleep will make tomorrow brighter.

...What do you folks feel is the most efficent Cartridge?

The lowly .22LR is probably the most efficient cartridge.

Consider the muzzle energy of a cartridge divided by the amount of powder in grains. That tells the foot-pounds of energy per grain; one measure of efficiency.

It's also fun to examine a single caliber and bullet weight to compare different cartridges. For example, you might compare .22 centerfires shooting 55 grain bullets out of 24 inch barrels. Compare foot-pounds of energy per grain for the .223, .22-250, .223 WSSM, etc. shooting 55 grain bullets.

Read some Ayn Rand non-fiction If you can handle more than 10 pages without falling asleep, it will probably inspire you. The Voice of Reason is a good place to Start, or Capitalism, the Unknown Ideal.

depends upon what you are trying to do, and how good you are. Sometimes you need a lot more than a .22, but those times better be REALLY rare, if your life is riding upon the outcome.

I was going to say the same thing a 40 grain bullet between 1100-1200 feet per second using about 2 - 2-1/2 grains of powder. Excellent accuracy the ability to take small game and small varmints out to 125 yards with a good shooter and good set up. Just a plain fun usefull round to shoot.

I have always wanted a Kimber in .22 then again one of those .17 hrm's in the same platform would be sweet too.
