View Full Version : Karma

My vision of karma is what I call "Investment Karma". The Christian Bible quote, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap", sums up the concept, nicely.
I have seen the cause and effect of Karma in my exploits from business, to personal goals of self improvement, and, really, any endeavour into which I have put effort of thought and deed.
Karma is real in my life experience, so me being 'just folks', I think it also is at work in the lives of everyone else. So, how does this knowledge lead us to behave? Is it a 'do unto others...' golden rule type of deal, or have you a different spin that would serve to enlighten?

“Your Karma ran over my dogma.”
“That’s because your dogma was chasing my Karma…”
If you “plant” corn, corn comes back; same is true with anything on earth. Relevnt things to consider are that it not only does “come back”, it comes back:
- the SAME type as you planted. If you plant sweet corn, you don’t get field corn (or tomatoes) back.
- AFTER you plant it. You (or someone/something) have to be the instigator; nature just responds to the “input” of the planting that occurred previously.
- MORE than you planted it. One corn kernel (seed) will bring back a corn stalk bearing literally hundreds of times more kernels than you initially put out.
These concepts are demonstrably true in every measurable forum; crops, flowers, animals in the woods, fuel on a fire, money in a bank account… doesn’t matter the location, the law remains the same. Whatever is fed, grows; it’s pretty simple.
Yet for some reason (usually convenience or avoidance of responsibility), some people assume that this same natural law somehow ceases to apply when you’re dealing with things that aren’t so easily measured or quantified.
I've seen LOTS of seeds fail miserably to even START the plant, much less make it to seed again. MANY things can happen along the way. There's zero reason to worry about such. Look at all the scumbags who get away with screwing over people their entire lives. Me, I believe in taking care of business. Several guys have been REAL sorry they ever screwed with me, and doubtless, many more will be too. :-)

Sigh.
You don't seem to quite get what's being discussed, but that's ok. Your "taking care of business" probably has some karmic implications that are completely lost on you.
Has it ever occurred to you, that you are already suffering for some of your past actions?
Even your threats are sounding empty, why - because of past actions.
I'm not trying to be nasty, not even trying to flame you. I'm actually trying to get you to consider this. (You don't even have to acknowledge you are considering it, in case you feel that doing so would cause you to lose face.)
We all are products of our decisions.

To me, karma is the controll on what you do with your life. As Im not a believer in hell, I believe if you do bad in life, you will get whats comming to you, and then some before you die, not after; so you do in a manner get disciplined for your misdeeds. However, I also believe that what you do right, returns good, positive things.

Heck, I don't know. I've seen too many unfathonable situations to accept that karma really works. Matter of fact, I would say that the only way karma could be a real force in this universe is if it works hand in hand with reincarnation. You know, the quips like "Man you must have been a real asshole in a past life to have THIS happen to you!" There are just too many instances of truly bad people having a comfortable life in THIS life to think that it is all going to balance out in one lifetime.
