Whoever shot those officers must have had some serious **** with them to justify calling in the military.

I hope we dont have to look forward to even greater restrictions in Canada.

Your hope may be in vain.

.gov usually sees these incidents as a way to capitalize on hysteria to ram thru anti-gun legislation. At least here in amerika.

Here too. The 5rd magazine cap for self-loading centerfires was put through mostly because of The Oka Crisis and The Montreal Shootings.

Here in the USSA, I wonder how many of those type incidences happen just so that that legislation can get passed.

The only way that 1 man could have taken down 4 police officers in those circumstances is if they were screwing the pouch. Only 1 officer got off any rds according to early reports. Two officers had been pulling guard duty throughout the night. They were probably tired and bored.

As for Oka, I talked in detail with the bomb techs that were on site. They said that the QPP cop was shot in the back of the head from an accidental discharge by the cop behind the victim. I worked with the QPP in the late '70's and early '80's. I have no doubt that they were telling the truth.
