Greg, please tell us about your pig trapping tips. I've caught muskrat and raccoon before with the Conibears and with snares but never a pig. Did you bait them? How did you locate their runs?. Come on fellow trapper, anything you say won't be enough.

Erika,
There are TONS of hog trails/runs where I trap. We were actually trying for fox or raccoon. This little pig was on his way down to the creek and got his head stuck in my snare. Damn he's gonna taste good this evening!!!!

Don't know the book's current status. I got mine several years ago.

Congrats Gregh........looks like you are off to a good start.

I've never snared a hog, we don't have them around here. I have snared lots of foxes though. With the price of fur going back up I just may get into it again. For years it just wasn't worth the effort.

Well this pretty much wraps up the season for me, and what little bit I do catch. The hog was just a BIGTIME bonus. I was going strickly for coon.

Well it's 5:57 and I'm of to pull the rest of my traps out. I'll keep everyone posted of what happens.

Well today, my last day of the season for me I caught 1 coon (female), and 1 possuum (female). I hate f'n possuums. I learned a lot this year. Hopefully I will do better the next.
