CZ 52's, I bought three, and gave one to my son. They really shoot good. Your missing a good bet if you pass them by.

C Z 52s are great guns. A pistol with an MV of 1,645 fps is a real blast.

Did they ever make steel-core ammo for them? The things have quite the reputation for penetration, just wondered if they ever tried to maximize that, given that they were training to fight an enemy that habitually wears body armor (us).

totally cool.
terryg what did you give for them? :cool:Two were $99.95 and one was (I splurged) $119.95.) J&G Sales. By the way, I re-read my post about my dog cornering the cat. It was funny. You have to laugh at yourself once in a while.
Maybe I should look into getting a C&R license. Think I'm missing some great deals. On the other hand I spend too much money as it is.

I thought over the C&R license thing, and decided not to get one, at least for now. My most frequently-haunted gunshop only charges me $25 over his price for a transfer (I know that's only $5 less than a C&R), but I get to handpick over it before paying, and if I don't like it, he sends it back for another one, or whatever. I also don't have to keep paperwork for each gun, nor do I have to have people sign a 4473 if I sell them one.
Get the C&R even if you never use it to buy a firearm. If you get the firearms via the normal channels, you don't need to keep any extra paperwork. However, you can get some discounts from companies such as Midway and Brownells if they have your C&R on file. First time I ordered from Midway following receiving my C&R, I saved more than the C&R cost me. :)

Some of the czech ammo is steel cored and VERY hot unfortunatly its also very old and not so reliable. The one time I did manage to get ahold of some it had lots of double strikes and two hangfires in 50 rounds. Also made my ears ring for hours (with ear plugs). Oh did I forget to mention that its inaccurate as hell.

You can sell them with no real problem as long as you don't make a "business" out of it. You Don't have to fill out any forms, either. I've only sold a couple, but you just need to record the information in your "Bound Book". I got a driver's license number and address for one, and a copy of another guy's C&R license for the other. Pretty simple, and believe it or not, ATFE is polite and helpful with questions. I just can't see paying $200.00 plus dollars for a gun I can get for $110.00, delivered. If you like C&R's, it's a cheap investment. The C&R license is a COLLECTOR'S license, not a dealer's. A dea;er's license is a whole lot more paperwork and money. I'm happy as heck I got mine. It's just that a credit card in one hand and Shotgun News in the other makes for problems. :headbang:

RIKA :(You should do it RIKA. One purchase will pay back the $30.00 you invest.

Well, when I called the ATF about it they said I DID have to use the form 4473 unless the person had an FFL (including a C&R), as well as record it in the book. They also said that once I had the liscense, ALL C&Rs, even those already owned or purchased through "normal channels" had to be recorded in the book.
That killed it right there for me.

Really? With Czech? I've had those problems with Albanian, but the Czech has all run without a hitch, and been some of the most accurate. Although I've heard bad things about the 80's manufacture Czech. . .

Yeah I understand. Except that $110 rifle would only be $135 (I don't pay the shipping) if I had my gunshop order it, not too bad.
Unfortunately, it's close enough to the C&R price that it hasn't kept me from going nuts. :headbang:

Here is a quote from an email I got from the BATFE:
"Question 1. Firearms that I obtained BEFORE I was issued a C&R license do NOT have to be entered into an ATF-approved Personal Firearms Acquisition and Disposition record book unless I sell them, correct? In other words, as long as I owned them BEFORE getting the license and STILL own them, I do not need to record them in any ATF books or on any ATF forms, right?
ANSWER: You are considered by the Gun Control Act of 1968 (as amended) as a non-license with respect to anything other than collecting curios & relics. Therefore, you are not required to entire your personal firearms, in a "Personal Firearms Acquisition and Disposition record" as would be required of a dealer in firearms.
Question 2. Any non-C&R firearms I get now that I have the C&R license MUST be entered into an ATF-approved Personal Firearms Acquisition and Disposition record book immediately, correct?
ANSWER: Again you are not a dealer in firearms, regarding firearms other than curios & relics, you are considered a non-licensee, therefore there is no requirement to enter non C & R firearms in an ATF-approved Personal Firearms Acquisition and Disposition record book.
Question 3. I recently purchased C&R applicable firearm, but I did NOT use my C&R license. I purchased it at a gunshow and did the typical paperwork as if I didn't have a C&R license. So, this firearm was NOT purchased with my C&R license even though it could have been. This firearm must be entered in my ATF-approved Personal Firearms Acquisition and Disposition record book and NOT in my ATF-approved Collector Record Book: Acquisition and Disposition, correct?
ANSWER: Same as #2. "
