Does anyone know of a supplier for M-N stripper clips? I haven't been able to find them anywhere.
I took mine up to the farm on Sunday, first time I'd shot it. I really like this rifle. I can't believe I put off buying one for so long! I only shot out to 150 yards but this thing really hammers at that range. It shot a bit to the right, so I brought it home and knocked the front sight that way. I'm going to find out this weekend if I knocked it over enough. It's my new favorite 100 dollar bolt action rifle! lol
I already have plans to buy a few more.
I bought MN strippers at the gunshow. The ones I have hold the cartridges so tightly that even a man's hands can't force them into the magazine. IOW, they suck! and I won't be buying more.
Could be though that I'm just not loading them correctly but I've tried every way possible.
YMMV

The reproduction ones, which no doubt RIKA has examples of, are crap. You have to modify them by hand until they hold the rounds correctly. If you had an example of a real one, you'd see all the bends are much sharper than the repros. Unfortunately, the repros are usually all you can find, if you can find them.
Y'all might not like the outfit, but my advice is to watch eBay. There's usually a lot of people selling clips for the MN, most are repros. When they have the real deal, they say so prominently, as they are sought after and command a premium. Don't be surprised to end up paying $30/10, but they are worth it. Unless you can get some real ones, or have a LOT of time to sit around and fiddle with the repros, I wouldn't bother.
The way to tell if they are genuine clips or not is to loo at the back of them, and see if they have the Ishevsk proof mark on them (arrow in a triangle).
I don't have a pic of the proof mark, but here's and end-on pic of a real one and some repros:

The one on the left is a real one, notice the difference in the bends of the metal. You have to make the repros look like that to function correctly.
The repros do suck, BUT I've got a BUNCH of them. I love using them just to carry rounds in my pocket or pouch in lots of 5 whether I load from the stripper or not.

Yep. I've got repros. Guess I'll have to look for some real ones.

Well that sucks. I was hoping there was a really clear answer and the answer would amount to a phone call and $8/20. :) That's what I paid for SKS stripper clips last time anyways. Guess I'll just have to keep my eyes open.
RIKA.......what does YMMV stand for?

You might try http://www.buymilsurp.com/ , sometimes he has them. However, CALL to order, and ask specifically for Russian arsenal marked ones. If you just send in the order, you'll get reproduction ones.
I have found some of the brass reproduction one, and they worked pretty well. The bends weren't proper, but brass is so much softer than steel, that they still work.
You can browse the auction sites and the guns shows. You're more likely to find the new brass ones than originals, but the originals are worth the elevated prices.
