Pick two, a belt service pistol and a concealable back up. One caveat. Anything OTHER than the Colt 1911, or it's copies. Mine would be the Browning HP, and the Walther PPK in .380. How about you?

You took my choice but if i couldnt use the 1911 it would be:

Browning HP
High Standard (with silencer if I could take that too)

I have this weird fascination with break open revolvers (isnt a webly a break open? mabye not) and Ive always wanted to shoot A M/N Revolver, those things just look interesting to shoot once.

I removed the Colt because I knew the overwhelming majority would choose it. so would I. I wanted to see some "otherwise" choices. What? No 8MM Nambus or Tokarev's? Try harder, folks. On second thought, maybe a 1917 S&W .45. Those half-moon clips load fast!

Actually, the Astras feel better than they look, they are quite reliable, and they are amazingly accurate.

OK, two more... a Lahti as a belt gun and an FN 1922 as a pocket pistol. This is a fun thread.

ha! i had a "gun-show" comando friend who [at one time] had an amazing collection of old/odd-ball war surplus.
the astra/largo was [1] of them.

although, him being the "gun-show"comando he was, the ARIZONA heat was
a bit TOO much for him to be the pistolero he THOUGHT he was.

i recall, a 1903/or 07? browning .45a.c.p[fore-runner of the vaunted 1911 colt] it was a long-slide,and crude[he said 'villa' troopers used it]

i did happen to break the mainspring on an original 1847 colt's
walkers dragoon[or was it an 1849?],,,any way he was PISSED at me. :roflmao1:

If it was a .45, it was most likely a 1905 Model. It sounds more like a 1900 Model in .38 ACP.

COPY!,it was .45a.c.p,,,,,,so i 'guess' i split'/scattered' my time-line

RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE! [a salient feature i posess/suffer]

thanks friend/arbendixe

Okay. I would take the Tokarev as second choice along with a customized S&W M1917. I forgot about the suppressed Woodsman though I've heard that the suppressor stopped working well after a few shots.

Ahh, Brass brought my rememberance to some pistols I'd have taken. . .(thanks Brass).
He took Gen Patton's Peacemaker, and MacArthur's .380. . .

I'd pick Patton's Registered Magnum .357 and his issue Colt .380.

Interesting thread. The Browning 9mm was my issued handgun during my 28 years in uniform when I needed to be issued with one, plus I used one for 6 years of IPSC competition. So thats a given. I also like the idea of a Walther PPK too.

I have this weird fascination with break open revolvers (isnt a webly a break open? mabye not) and Ive always wanted to shoot A M/N Revolver, those things just look interesting to shoot once.

Some Webleys were break tops, some were solid framed, and they made an interesting auto as well.

I owned a Beretta M1934 in .380 during the '70's, didnt like the fact that the action didn't stay to the rear after the last shot in the mag.
