Before RIKA steered me tp IMA for a 1917 holster, I was browsing on some C&R forums for a source. I innocently mentioned on one that I had been told that the 1937 Brazilian production 1917 .45 was starting to be worth more than the WW1 and WWII productions. Now mind you, I don't care, I don't buy guns for investments, I lose enough money on my stock investments to worry about gun investment issues. But the reaction was liked I had insulted their mothers. No "foreign gun can be worth what an American gun is worth". Foreign gun? It has made in the USA stamped on it. It's made from the same materials and dies as the original S&W 1917, so what are they talking about? The forum owner chirrped up that I was listening to the wrong people, and that gun values were best left to the "experts." Well, excuuuse me, I thought I knew a tiny bit about firearms, but I guess I don't. I questioned a "drop in" .22 LR device, made in someones garage in Bulgaria, that forum members were slavering to get and was told to mind my own business, it was only $250.00, (more than I paid for any of my four Makarov's) and it was a collector's item, so there. It didn't work, as I found out, but of course no one acknowledged my input.
There are more self styled firearms experts with the gunkid personality on the internet than I can count. They are empty headed braggarts and snotty as well. Terry is quite knowledgable; too bad there are so many looking for advice who pay attention to these turds. The way that they treated you is typical, Terry.
Hey Terry, what forum did you find these tards on?

I wonder how fast you'd be banned if you told them to spend less time masturbating over gadgets and more time with their ass in the grass training... :duck:

Which forum was it Terry?

None of the C&R forums, not even the polite ones have anything to do with training with the weapons, it's about collecting them and tracing their history.

It was Gunboards, Military pistols. Usually a polite forum, I must have ruffled some feathers. I thought it was innocent enough.

I've heard bad things about that board before (basically what you experienced), I never bothered with it.
