I'm a big fan of the Modesty Blaise book series. They called her a female James Bond but she was actually more of an adventuress; she enjoyed the adrenalin of danger.

Anyway, I'll include a few of these images and do others in separate threads. Sorry that the Modesty images are so small but I can't expand them without making them blurry.

The movie was funny as heck...there was a trailer for it on one of the "flint" dvds I own, and I actually saw it on some late night channel.

It was one of those movies that was so bad it was good...

The 1965 movie with Monica Vitti was really bad (she couldn't even speak English; they dubbed her voice). They made a movie in 2004 called "They Call Me Modesty" which touched on her early years and was fairly interesting. Word has it that a better movie will be released in 2006.

Hope so. I think there was a period in the 60's where they tried the female james bond thing - Modesty Blaze, Fathom (Raquel Welch), the Avengers (Diana Rigg was totally hot!), and a couple others I'm trying to place.

I think the avengers succeeded because they didn't take themselves too seriously and they didn't treat the audience like total idiots.
