View Full Version : Something about RIKA
OK RIKA, how are we doing by you, the good, the bad and the ???? do please tell all. :dgrin:
You guys are doing great and I'm extremely flattered but isn't me. I'm not one to talk about myself but heres a little.
Six years ago my leg was broken at the knee. I have a big scar on my leg where the doctors cut me open to set it. They put it back together with screws and bone from a corpse. As a result I walk with a slight limp and have arthritis in that leg/knee as well as pain. There are other scars that don't show. I wasn't kidding when I said I was plain looking, most men don't give me a second glance. You have to get to know me to appreciate me. I have plenty of brains but I guess I must have been checking out the sporting goods department when the good Lord was passing out beauty. :D As you may have noticed, I'm a little sensitive about my looks so I don't publish photos.
The person who is writing these words that you are reading right now and who has written the words you have read in the past is the real me. Through my participation here you know me better than most people do. Honor, intense loyalty to my friends and to my ideals, honesty and a willingness to help others are a large part of my life. My love of the outdoors, guns, dogs and everything that life has to offer is what makes life worthwhile. Fortunately I have Jack who overlooks my flaws and together we give each other happiness. One of the joys of my life is helping my older friends who can't fully help themselves.
Okay, you asked for it. This is me, RIKA. Just don't feel sorry for me because I'm living my life fully despite some setbacks. I value each of you here as friends so I'm giving you a glimpse of me that most folks don't get.
Hope this isn't too depressing.

Just don't feel sorry for me because I'm living my life fully despite some setbacks.
You can't feel sorry for someone you respect. The two just don't go together.
Fortunately, physical attractiveness isn't a hugely important trait in a long-term relationship, fortunately for some of us.
If it were, BigEd & I would be some lonely mofo's... (Couldn't resist, Ed; the shrek avatar & all...)

good to read more about you Rika. Don't sweat the flaws... everyone has them. It's the ability to say "hey, that's just me!" that makes you rise above. People who think they are perfect are annoying as hell anyways ;)
here's a quote for ya...
"Any piece of clothing can be sexy with a quietly passionate woman inside it." - anonymous.
As you see, it's not about the looks, it's the attitude. :D

Hell RIKA, we all have fallen in love with you for some time now, you say you aren't a beauty? your one of the most beautiful women I've never met!!!
Talking about looks? I look just like Santa, fat belly, full beard, whit hair and have kids comming up to me all the time yelling "Santa, Santa", the problem is that adults see me another way, fat, old and and used up, not much good except for the boneyard (just around the corner) and I might be a "dirty old man" but I shrug it off and go on. I think that I speak for all here, your one hell of a rose in a garden full of weeds. :santa:

John no problem at all I know exactly what you mean.
And Rika let me tell you something about 4years ago I was in a car accident though minor it and the following job change has caused my weight to slowly creep up. Ever since I told my last job to stuff it I've been slowly getting it down some what but it's been a struggle.

Well, Rika, since I'm actually from a nearby but rather trendy and fashionable star system, you probably wouldn't appeal to me unless you had gills and purple stripes along the edges of your talons. However, other than that, I'm sure you're quite attractive, in a soft, squishy, clawless, stripeless, mammillian sort of way.
Rika,
You didn't say what you were doing when you broke your leg.... Sorry that it still gives you pain,... Does that mean we get to give you piggy back rides???
From what you have said here, you seem to be a humble person. What you just said, proves that...
A strong sense of honor, and loyalty,.... Wonderful traits for a friend to have.
There is an old saying about beauty,... And it is normally true. With the way you treat people here,.. you definately are not ugly....

I want to thank each of you for your kind words and thoughts. I guess each of us forms mental images of people, especially women, that we meet on the internet. You guys were thinking that I was a Heidi Klum/Jeri Ryan type from the avatars I posted. I didn't deliberately mislead you; I just like the avatars. Anyway, I just thought it was time to tell you something about the real me. Life has its compensations; at least I'm not butt fugly, can do 99% of the things I want to do physically including drive my stick shift car and can laugh even at myself. Even more so, I don't feel obliged to compete with anyone but myself in pursuit of excellent achievement.
7 of 7, you asked how I got my leg broken. I was walking from the parking lot to morning class when I was hit by a black teenager driving a stolen motorcycle. Hows that for wierd? He didn't have any money or insurance so there was no one I could sue. Luckily I was covered as a dependent student under my real Dad's insurance. My leg hurts mostly during cold weather or when the weather changes.
One thing I've learned is that God doesn't make junk. We all have value to others and to ourselves if we just let go and do the best we can.
Enough of my yakking.
Best

I don't have a lot to add to what the others have posted, except maybe this.
This picture is of a tree I found on our deer hunt. Some might look at it and see a dead, dying, or otherwise ugly thing. I looked and thought it was beautiful. Others have commented that they like the image I captured. So, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and sometimes it's a question more of perspectives...I don't have to know what you look like, I know that anyone who looks will find something of beauty there.
Sounds mushy, but I believe it to be 100% true.

It's easy to do until you get used to that new button, isn't it? Don't feel bad. I did it at least once that I can remember when I first got those new sets of buttons. I ended up just deleting the entire message like it never appeared and sending the poster a PM saying what happened and I was sorry. Thankfully, he understood and dopesn't seem to hold it against me.
Glad I'm not the only one to have done it now. I owe you....lol.

RIKA, you are beautiful... You may not think so but you are.
I know where you are coming from with the knee. I had to have reconstructive surgery on my right ankle and foot following an accident. I walk with a limp and have pain often. I've also got other scars as well... I just have to shrug it off and keep on going...
No matter what Erika, you have friends here who love you and admire you for all of your qualities. Never even think differently for a moment.
Actually, I'll make a confession... you remind me quite a bit of my wife from what I know of you.
God Bless you hon.
Mike
Thank you Mike. I'll admit that my thoughts aren't cold and logical like I want them to be but rather emotional. Can't help it although I try to suppress it. Remember, all a lot of what girls hear most of their lives is great legs, beautiful hair, beautiful face, slim body, marry a rich man and have babys blah, blah, blah. And the classic "you're not normal if you want to shoot guns and go hunting'. Its criminal brainwashing, thats what I think it is. They want all of us to grow up to be Barbie dolls! Blech!

That's okay Rika... You have nothing to worry about. I never dated women who didn't like guns... no matter what they looked like. I always figured them to be rather short on supply when it came to intellect. I've found that most gun owning and shooting women are of a higher intelligence, better conversationalists and dare I say it, more fun in the sack.
I also just drool over a girl with her own toys too.

RIKA, sometimes I think that you assume worse about people rather than better; yourself included.
Do you remember what I posted about the night that I was driving home from working out of town and the head-on accident occured in front of me? It happened in a poor, rural area populated by black, white and hispanic people. Those people poured out of their homes with blankets to keep the victims warm and cell phones to call the victims' families.
Sure, there are places like New Orleans where evil seems to carry the day, but there must be an abundance of good people or else the world would have long fallen apart.
None of us know what you look like, but we have become fond of the person typing at your computer. People here at ArmsLocker like you as you are.
Now, follow my daily example: Walk past the mirror and say, "Hey, you look good!" :)

Thank you Rolin. After having seen the bad side so much, I admit that I am kind of cynical though I try to cut other people slack. And I admit that sometimes I am my own worst enemy because I hold extremely high standards for myself, much higher than I expect of others. I value each and every person here as a friend and hope for good things for each of you every day.
RIKA :)
Flinter, thanks to you too for cheering me up.
RIKA :)

Ahh, but that is the true definition of a gentleman (regardless of sex or gender!). I don't see anything wrong with that attitude. Matter of fact, I find anything but that attitude to be a character flaw.
KJ

This leads to my own conspiricay theory of the fashion industry (run by homosexuals) putting out clothes that only fit the anexoric models and saying that this is what women should aspire to be. I wave the BS Flag!!! :madeuce: :madeuce: :madeuce:
I don't find the plastic faced, breastless, straight legged, breastless walking sticks attractive at all. I think the homos running the fashion industry are trying to make all women either into unhealthy dolls or so overcome with guilt for not looking like that, that they become mental cases. Either way, the goal is to turn red blooded men away from women and increase the homo dating pool!
NOT HAPPENING! I'll take substance over style any day. And if a girl isn't model perfect, but wants to be with me - YIPPEEEE, I'll take it!
Tuna, we are all relentlessly brainwashed by the advertising industry and by those around us. In my years with my mother I was brainwashed in a negative way that I am working to overcome. But thats not important.
Everybody think about this: What if everybody had to walk around naked? That way we'd be on a totally level playing field. Linda with the beautiful face might have a flat butt while Buffy has big bazoobies and a fatty belly. Now look at Lance, he might have a tiny one or even a big'un that salutes all the guys. :D
Yep. Thats it; total nudity is the answer to all our problems. How are ya gonna fight a war if you're naked except for your rifle and pack? Think about the presidential candidates saying "vote for me" while appearing totally naked on television.
RIKA :) ( reductio ad absurdem and just having a little fun)
that they become mental cases.
Nah, they get that honestly!
Rika, the idea of all of us going around naked sounds good to me. But since it has warmed up to 20 degrees here, let me be the first to say: "You first" :nyah: :duck: :nyah:
Think about the presidential candidates saying "vote for me" while appearing totally naked on television.

The ironic part her is that the above statement re-enforces the "brainwashing." If Becky doesn't have a flabby tummy or small breasts or a nice butt, then somehow Jenny isn't equal to us?
Furthermore, that wouldn't really change much - some men will still like different things no matter what - SAME as now. For example, I don't like girls to skinny. "I like my women like I like my chicken....." :)
How about this: we all have to wear a shirt with our accomplishments based on intelligence and hard work listed on the front and back? THEN we'd all be on a level playing field....lol. Kinda like being your own walking CV. :)
Of course, there will always be those women that think my wife was a failure because she wasn't married and on her 2nd (or third!) kid by the age 22 even thogh she was over half way to earning her DVM by then. (True story - an old classmate actually told her she was wasting her life for not being married with kids at that age - this from a near-high school drop out....lol.)
I guess, on second though, there IS no level playing field. :headbang:
I'll still dream for the twin redheads who like designated drivers, though.
KJ
You know that I was kidding. Guess in the long run all we have is our accomplishments however small and the knowledge that we tried to live our lives with compassion and honor.
