N V Scopes

Does anyone have any experience with night vision scopes? I am looking to set up a 1st or 2nd gen. on a Colt 6700. I live in a small farm town and we are starting to get more of a coyote problem within the area. Traps or poison are out due to a large outdoor cat/dog population(which are becoming their diet of choice). I've taken a few while deer hunting, but not enough to dent the population. Night-time is the right-time for these predators and I'm getting more requests from the locals. (happy farmers let you hunt their land)

First of all, make sure that it's legal to hunt coyotes at night... I've found that a simple predator call works day or night on them. Something to think about...

As for the NV, I prefer Gen 3, though it's more expensive... I use two units, the PVS-14 and the PVS-22. If you can't afford a Gen 3 unit, A Gen 2 is always better than a first gen scope. Sportsmans Guide has a decent selection but I'll be honest, after the fiasco's I've had with older night vision, I won't touch anything but a Gen 3 or 4.
