I am wanting to build a M-40 / Varmint / Hunting Rifle. I am left handed and found a MRC Model 1999. Plan to add a stainless steel flutted 20-22" barrel after blue printing and lapping the receiver. Final finish to be black Teflon with stainless fluts and natural bolt.

Can someone tell me why I shouldn't start with the Montaina 1999 action?

Is there a better action in the $400 range for a LEFT-HANDER ?

Open for suggestions for a stock. Looking at MPI custom, many chooses.

Thanks,

Sounds like it'll be a beauty! No reason not to start w/MRC action, unless you wanted to use that controlled rnd feeding for a dangerous game rifle. Seems a push feed rcv would be fine for dangerous P-dogs. My .02.

Wow! Thats handsome. $400 is an attractive price too. Looking for photos of your new custom rifle.
