View Full Version : Hey Aslan - handle wrap
I tried to follow your instructions and came up with this. Not as pretty as yours but its secure and I'm satisfied for now; can always re-do it. What do ya think?
Thanks again.

Nice! It's actually very similar to what I did. I think I may have wrapped it a little tighter (not a criticism, an observation) or the paracord I used was lightly different from yours.
I think you did a good job. The question is how it feels in your hand - after all it's your knife!
I think the paracord is different. Mine is thick and its wrapped tightly. Might have gotten it a wee bit tighter if I had help but I'm alone. Its feels good in the hand.

Looks fine to me. And yeah I've had different type(production lots maybe) of paracord that seem to be slightly thicker than some others. Might be a difference between a Mil-spec supplier and a civiy Mil-style supplier.

There's a joke in there somewhere, and I think that should be my line....

:)
looks good
BTW... a lot of people will partially or fully gut the paracord and then iron it so it lays flat before wrapping.
cheers

But then you give up some of the utility of using the paracord if in a survival situation...
probably not a huge consideration, but...
