I lost it one time when a punk who owed me some money said he just wasn't going to pay me, right in front of others that I did biz with. Next thing I knew, I was on top of him, doing the "cheese-grater" thing, and he was screaming about the money being in his pocket. :-) When you overwhelm them swiftly, break their balance backwards, and take them to the pavement hard enough, they aint doing crap to harm you. They are too scared and shaken up to be doing anything but crying for their mama. I never had any more trouble getting paid with any of that crowd, but I never did any more business with the punk, either.

You just never did it to anyone serious enough.

I did break a dude's nose by putting his face in a table once. He grabbed me from behind in a bar.

The waitress saw the whole thing and had him ejected and I got a free round of drinks for our table.

I didn't do it out of spite or because I was trying to make a point. I did it because someone attacked me. period.

That's a fair statement. Kinda hard to argue with.

Damn, somehow I missed this thread.Aslan, there was a time when I was pretty scared.I got braced by somebody who had friends there to "enjoy the show"....I was not paying any attention up to that point;I'd been partying inside the girl's trailer&stepped outside to get some tapes from the car. When he called me and rushed me;I did not "cheese grate him",but I DID prop him up for a longer time in the clinch than necessary to slam elbows, knees and upper cuts into him-I thought if I did not set an "object lesson",the spectators were going to turn into participants. And I KNEW I could not deal with that.I gues if there was a curb handy;I probably would have used it.Funny what getting suprised ,and scared will do.

Kind of hard to make the case either way, really. I just know that pain compliance holds often don't work on people who are so pissed that all they care about is beating their opponent to a pulp.

You just need to be a master in Toe gone boom, or ha ping mo rawn style (awesome gravity defying kicks where you can steer while flying through the air) to understand that you are completely mistaken...

I appreciate the "nothing says OBEY ME like..".Did you get that from a Terry Pratchett book??He always wites like Tolkien off on a long bender with the Monty Python troupe, with Fear (old punk band) providing a soundtrack&party favors.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but if you break their balance backwards wouldn't that mean you would be grating the back of their head on the pavement. Maybe effective but not quite what was said.

i guess if you break their balance backward and give them a fraction of a second they will react in the opposite direction and you could use that momentum to help you get them facedown. sounds like the pin would be a version of ikkyo in aikido:

it's actually pretty tricky to get out of. my former sensei was about 5'9" and 170, he put it on me and even after doing brazilian jiu jitsu for a while and being significantly larger i was stuck. the key was to pull slightly up and away with the outside hand near the wrist and push down with the inside hand near the elbow. with only one hand it could probably be defeated unless you used the knee or broke your balance to go to some wrestling-like position. it's not really a pain compliance hold as opposed to an immobilization meaning that skeletal mechanics are used instead of nerve/soft tissue.

I usually just go with the oppoing motions type thing,i.e;sidewalk level stomping sweep(push)combined with a high pull(ears, hair ,etc.) Goal is to introduce the nice fellow to Mr. Sidewalk,Mr.Cirb,Mr. Utility Pole.Kind of a variation of "push hand-Pull elbow".Guess it all depends on the angle of attack,footing;etc..

Some punk tried to do that to me when he tried to mug me. I'll just say that it didn't work like he'd hoped.

Be careful acting tough Gunkid... someone like me may be the person you **** with and you may get your ass handed to you in pieces... if your lucky.

where did y'all find this tool?
this poorly written, fantasy drivel is usually reserved for mildly retarded kids trying to get their GED's

John Melvin Davis AKA Gunkid is in Federal prison on firearms violations. Some tough guy he is; he gave up without a fight, only a whimper.

it's been my experience, while in high risk LE (which I no longer am) that most of them do give up without a fight.

then usually about 30 minutes after they are booked in and have been placed in their holding cells you'll hear something along the lines of " if you didn't have that badge __________" (fill in the blank).
