I would love to have a mortar or even a small black powder cannon. Unfortunately there is no place to shoot it around here. I always drool when I look at the Dixie Gun Works catalog.

There is a guy who makes full sized mortar's. He charges 300 bucks for them, they fire pop cans filled with concrete. I thought about buying one for a long time....then decided against it.

I've fired a 6 lb cannon. It's a blast.

I saw a few of those for sale on Gunbroker. Maybe the same guy?

Most likely, there's only one that I know of.

I know one guy who builds bp mortars and small cannons locally.

Pretty cool stuff.

All of his I've seen though have been made of steel.
