I am looking at purchasing a spotting scope. I want to be able to pick out holes in paper at 500 yards. I mostly shoot .308 but sometimes I shoot 223. I looked at the burris landmark 20-60X80mm scope which runs about $200 to $250. Are there any other suggestions? I realize that with optics you get what you pay for, but I am looking for something reasonable. Thanks

well your lucky i just recently had to buy a new spotting scope to use during matches, my old one finally gave up the ghost. i sent it out to be repaired, but the waiting list for repairs is 6 months. so i decided to go ahead and buy me another one for a spare and to use while mine was not here. heres what i bought there not cheap, but it's the best optics i could find in a spotting scope Swarovski Spotting Scope, HD-ATS80 i paid a little over $1800.00 for it but when you want to see them little bitty bullet holes at 500 + yrds. you can't get a cheaper one that i know of.
