Looked around the web for a good-quality weaver-type scope mount so that I could screw a dot optic on an M44 Mosin. Took awhile to find it, but I settled on this one to try out. We'll see how she does.

Darrell's Scout Mounts are the best there is of that type mount. Easy to adjust and rock solid once it's on the piece.

Yep that's it. Heard a lot of good stuff about them on milsurp forums when I was heavy into them.

I opted for a Mojo peep site, intending to install that on the M44, and then move it to a full-sized Mosin later, replacing it with the Darrell's unit on the M44 at that time. I have received the Mojo and installed it, and just wanted to post that it is a high-quality item, precisely made and with solid adjustments. Useful, well-made piece of gear. Obviously it won't be an extremely accurate sighting system on the short M44, but it should shine on a longer Mosin.

Best,
Jon

If you are looking for a complete scope package with a quality scout scope mount for your Mosin Nagant, go to the following site. There are 6 or 7 different scope packages available, two different length mounts and the mounts feature cross bolt mounting for a rock solid scope platform

No offense if you're selling those, but they are fairly flimsy.

I've found these to be best:
