A friend say's he'll tiger - stripe or walnut- maple the stock for me for letting him display it for a month. Son-of-a-Motherless Goat it might be prettier, but I showed you how it shoot's, and I like it. What do you think?

Don't change a thing....fancy camo, stainless steel, and black synthetic all have their place. Blued steel and walnut however, simply warm the heart. If you were to change anything, maybe a nice leather shooting sling....brown or ox blood of course.

I've never liked the look of fake tiger stripe. I've seen it done a good bit in the muzzy world, but it just never looked natural to me.
There isn't anything wrong with the current appearance,... Looks great to me.

I'll follow your advice and leave it the way it is. Something about a Garand, kind of like a Colt SAA .45. You mess with it, your likely to screw it up!

Hey Terry G! Here's an idea why don't you buy another one and tiger stripe it. Can't never have to many good rifles. :dgrin:

Yep, there's something about a Garand. It's easy to discover why the soldiers that used them loved them. They were even useful as a big club if you ran out of ammo.
They have a place of respect and honor with anyone that owns one.
