I have been reading this forum for most of year now, but just now joined up. This is my first ever posting to any forum, so please bear with me if I screw up. :) I'm an old hunter, shooter, collector (make that accumulator), and retired engineer. I'm interested in anything that burns powder, especially bigbore rifles and handguns. I also shoot a lot of 223, 308, 30/06, and 22 rf these day, as they are cheap to shoot. I'm also a handloader, but haven't been back to bench for a while now. I have rifles ranging from the 17 HMR to the 458 Win., handguns from 22 LR to 454 Casull, and shotguns from 20 ga to 10 ga mag. I enjoy this forum, and RIKA, I saw your pictures and I must concur with the rest of the guys: Beauty, Brains, Soul, and Gunsavvy; you got it all, kid.

Welcome to the posting world.
Cool that you have a 10ga, any chance that is your home defense weapon? :dgrin:

DaRkWoLf,
Thanks for the welcome.
No, I don't use a shotgun for home defense. I find a handgun to be much handier for that purpose, and much more deployable, at least in our house.
The 10ga mag. shotgun is an AyA and is the finest gun for long range pass shooting at waterfowl that I have encountered. It has a straight stock (1.63" drop at comb and 1.88" drop at heel) which makes it point naturally for me and makes for light felt recoil in spite of its light weight (8 lb, 14oz) for a 10 mag. Sadly, the lead shot prohibition put and end to its waterfowling career years ago since steel shot would ruin a fine old double gun like that. I used it for late season pheasants for a few years after that, but I haven't shot for years now. BIGBORE
