Ok not a great pic of it but here is my 1 of 25 Silver AR-50 from Armalite. I don't have a scope put on it as of yet. I bought a Millet for now and I am going to be putting a NF on it when I get my taxes back.

Nice! I take it you haven't shot it yet? Should be a real pussy cat to handle with that weight and muzzle brake.

Where did you get the Barrett ammo?

Yeah I shot it once 4 rounds just to check out recoil. I Have to say that it has less than the average 12 g shotgun. I bought the Barret ammo at a place called Bobs Army Navy in Clearfield PA. It is M33 661 GR FMJ. They have a web site also If you would like it I can post it or e-mail it to you.

Yes, please do. I wanted to pick up a few boxes of it, but Ammoman has been sold out for quite a while.

Thanks.

If you don't see it listed just call him and ask for Sam in the gun department and he will help you out.

Yeah I also got the Prince bi-pod also. They also included a Harris bi-pod adapter also. I couldn't believe it when I opened it up and seen the Extra strength Tylenol. I thought people had been joking when they told me that.

Thanks everyone. I live about 2 hours from Clearfield and my friend has a small 350 yd range that we play at. We are clearing alittle more to get approx 750 yds out of it. I know not even making it breath hard but all I can get til I make it to the Ridgeway range. They have a 1000 yd range there. It has a big steel buffalo clanger to hit at 1000 yds. I am lucky enough to have a freind that is helping me learn how to reload the 50bmg and what loads and bullets work the best.

brass hammer > Thank's. I have had it for about 2 months or so now and love it. I need to get some new pic's of it up now that I have a scope on it. I bought all my reloading stuff before I even had the gun. My friend has the RCBS 50 Bmg loading set and doesn't like it very much so I bought the Lee 50 Bmg kit and so far we both like it better. I was lucky enough to find brass on a few different sites I check on and now I have approx 845 pieces of brass and alittle over 300 loaded. Sportsman Guide had some FN ammo for sale I think it was something like $300 shipped for 200 rds. It is surprisingly very accurate but corrosive. I bought alot of pulled bullets with light pull marks on them. I have also been buying the Hornady 750 A-MAX bullets and useing CCI #35 primes the old box not the new white Arsenal ones. They don't seem to work as well for me. As for powder I used the H50BMG and also 20N29 and my friend has some surplus powder we use from time to time. I'm not sure what it is but I can check. I'm still new to reloading the 50 but so far I find that it isn't much different than other rifles. . I hope to put up some new pics soon.

What scope did you wind up putting on that guy?

Burmman
03-10-2007, 11:40 AM
I ended up putting a MILLETT BUCK GOLD 6-25x56 Mil Dot on it. It really surprised me. A friend has had one on his for about 3 years and it has taken all the abuse so far. I bought it on e-bay for I think it was $109 shipped. When I got it the rings where in the box they are heavy duty. You can see great for approx 700 yrds but after that they get blurry. I figured since I don't have a long range yet to shoot this would work til I saved up for a NIGHTFORCE and then I can run with the big dogs and get some distance.

Just make sure the eye relief is good enough to keep that scope from kissing your eyebrow. Four fingers is a pretty good rule of thumb to use.

Yeah, Nightforce makes some damned nice scopes. Well worth saving for....

Burmman
03-11-2007, 01:56 AM
Yeah when we put it on it was made sure that the scope was not going to be banging me in the head. I've put approx 100 or so rds through it. I can look and see the exact # I have it written down but so far no one had been nailed. Yeah I hope to get a NIGHTFORCE but I have this problem to many guns and never enough money. If I could just stop buying for a month I would have my NF.

Here are a few pics of my friends girlfriend, Him and I shooting it. I'm going to look for some place to upload a video from that day also.

:roflmao1:  the second 'clip' was cooler, as it had a SMILE!

'rock-on, bro'!

I had bought a 'foaming bore-solvent' a while back[about $12 bucks a can]
and while my 'new-yorker/friend' showed-up in feb. I broke-out the gun cleaning kit[i.e. yer' gonna' work fer' yer' 'LAZY-BOY' space,,,no such luck!]
although, the amount of crud I swabbed/bristled-out of thet .50 was SHAMEFUL!

[and I 'HIT' the ol'22-250,,,but it back-fired and back-foamed out into the chamber,,,,well, I SUCKED-MUZZLE!!! and only got a 1/2 mouth-ful, :roflmao1:  ,,, after spittin'/killin' a cold-one the little 22-250 looks almost factory-fresh!,,,it takes 30 minutes to turn blue/the foam]
