According to one muzzleloading expert "pure Irish linen" is supposed to be even better but I can't find any in my area.

I was told this stuff I had was linen from an old hospital in Wyoming. I loved it.
But thanks for the tips, I got some .018 Pillow Ticking and it works just fine in the rifle. Its a bit too tight in my hog leg though.

Linen is an easy fabric to identify because if you wrinkle it in your hands......it stays wrinkled. Cotton and blends tend to lose the wrinkles quick.
There are 2 kinds of ticking at Walmart. The striped kind tends to run in the .015-.018 range. There is another that is plain white. It runs closer to .010.
