View Full Version : Impact Guns - Bad Guy

Back on April 16th, 2005 I placed the following order with Impact Guns (http://www.impactguns.com/store/)

Order Number: 38794

Qty Name SKU Each Sub Total
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 FN FS2000 5.56x45mm Semi-auto Rifle, Civilian ModelFN-FS2000 $1,749.99 $1,749.99
1 FN PS90 5.7x28mm, Civilian Legal Semi AutoFNPS90 $1,399.99 $1,399.99
------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would drop them an email every now and again inquiring on the status of this order, and even though I had seen some of these guns for sale quite frequently, their response was that they were still filling previous orders or waiting for shipments.

Finally, on or about October 24, 2006, I got a call from someone named Shaem in their customer service department notifying me that my FS2000 was ready to be shipped to me. Shaem said that my FFL on file was listed as being no longer in business. So I did some calling around, and found another FFL holder locally who would do the transfer to me and forwarded this info to Shaem via email on 10/25/06. I contacted the FFL holder and had them fax a copy to Impact Guns, which Shaem told me was sufficient. In a followup phone conversation I gave Shaem my credit card number and she said that everything was good to go and my gun would be shipped out in the next couple of days. By then we were into the first week of November as email replies from Impact were rather slow in coming.

Anyway, with this all straightened away (I thought) I went to my FFL guy and filled out the paperwork ahead of time and paid the transfer fee and call in fee. Came to $35. And as far as I knew, I would be getting a phone call shortly from the FFL guy telling me my gun was in and I needed to come pick it up. So I waited..... and waited...... and waited...

On November 20th, I sent the following email to Impact Guns:

To which I got THIS response...

Dear serpenco,
We have Gandhi Arms listed on file for you but they need to resend in an
updated FFL for our files. Make sure when they fax it in it references your
name and order number.

If this is a dealer that you
would like to us, you can have him fax us his license (his FFL) to:
(801)393-2476.

Print out this coversheet and give it to your dealer:
http://www.impactguns.com/store/ffl_coversheet.html

As for the FS-2000 everyone is still waiting for it to arrive.

Your card will not be charged until we ship.

Thank you for your business

My reply was then...

So that's how things were left. After a month, I sent this email:

To which I received NO reply.

Finally, I had had enough, and sent this rather (excusably) rude email to Impact Guns:

Which got only this as a reply:

Yeah, I'm PISSED! :hot: I waited a year and a half for that gun and then they just SCREWED me (in my opinion) at the end. They had my credit card info, they had the FFL copy, and yet something happened and the gun was not shipped out. My suspicion and opinion is that someone else offered them more money or else a bigger customer wanted it, and they just decided to shaft me.

So screw them. I will NEVER even look at their website for anything ever again. They obviously (and in my opinion) do not feel that they are obligated to hold up to their word and could really care less about providing anything even remotely similar to good quality customer service. If that is the kind of company you don't mind doing business with, then more power to you. But in my case, I really don't care to do business with anyone whom I cannot trust their word nor their business practices....

I don't blame you in fact I feel that you were much too patient with them. I hope that you can get another FS2000 at a good price soon.

Are those things really that hard to get? My normal dealer had 2 in awhile back. The 1800 dollar price tag took them out of my hands and put them back on the shelf!

Thanks for the heads up on that company. I'll make sure they never get any business from me.

Rich Z

It looks like they don't have the best reputation in the world......

http://www.snipershide.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=014804

Wish I had checked on them before trying to do business with them.

I don't see very many FS2000s around, and the few that I did were priced at $2400+. But I can live without one. If I find one at a decent price I'll pick it up, but if not, oh well. The gun really isn't the issue. It's being jerked around by this company. Something obviously happened where they sold me gun to someone else. That is just NOT the way to do good business.

I expect they sold it at full mark up, or more, and that was passed on to the ultimate buyer. Hence the $2400 asking price you saw.

I'll never deal with them either.

I need to make a correction Rich.

My local gunshop had 2 FN PS90's. I thought they were the same, but they aren't.

Just to keep the record straight.

DAMN!as this "fuzz-up"! finds favor with the 'brass hammer'.

MISTER-Z!, although I recall finding/posting a link to the 'impact' website. I've never did any business[biz'nis]i.e. 'commercial affairs' with this outfit in 'troubled'-question,,,and i'm thinking your heartfelt/gut reactions in these 'dealings' are CORRECT!, as the NATURE of [bis'nis] is such, that the low-skilled bull-**** minimum wage EMPLOYEE 'will simply swim-BACKWARDS/CRAW-DAD' WHEN CONFRONTED[iffin they be a 'female' will generally start crying before/after a non-FACE-TO-FACE ,,conversation of 'import' to both parties concerened],,, THEREFORE, my highly-esteemed[SOMTIMES] good fellow!,,,the .WWW 'shot to the CAJONIES' THAT YOU HAVE "head-slamed" THAT OUTFIT! should be of a somewhat RECOMPENSE
for your suffered AGITAION!,,,,signed,YER'-FREIND',,,brass hammer.

That sucks. I'll be sure and spread the word in my area. We have quite a few FFL dealers I do business with on a regular basis.

I'm going to e-mail them the link to your post as soon as I finish with this post.

I'm glad I read that. I will NEVER do business with them.

i just bought an EoTech 512 for my bushmaster. one of the places with the best prices was Impact, i bought elsewhere and paid about $5 more to do so.
after reading this thread, i thought there was no way they would either support or assist me in obtaining support if i need it.

just thought you should know.

Rich Z, tell you what, I will now boycott Impact Guns, and tell my friends.

In my opinion, you would just be preventing yourself from having a future headache. They will certainly never see MY business coming their way. I don't care how good of a "pie in the sky" offer they make online.

Old thread I know.. but yeah they always have great prices and no product. I have been wanting to place an order for years... now I know.

I posted this thread on other gun related sites and was pretty amazed at the similar experiences LOTS of other people had. Not sure how they stay in business with so many disgruntled ex-customers. I don't care if they are selling $20 bills for $10, they'll not EVER get my business.

Wow... new to the forums, but I live near their store in Roy, and have had nothing but great things to say about them. I've purchased several FN products thru them over the past 3-4 years:

FN-SPR .308 $can't remember
FN FS2000 $1749.00
FN PS90 $2600 including SBR and Gemtech suppressor
and various other pistols and rifles.

I think more than anything, I just really don't do much business online. If I can't shake their hand and look them in the eye, I'm not going to trust them with much more than a thimble full of nickles, and last time I checked, you can't get to many nickles in a thimble!

I've been going to Impact for a long time, and have several people there that I'd call friends. I'll pass on this information to them, as they have always been concerned with great customer service, at least in my experience. Of course, I will keep it away and out of this forum and in no way use names, IP's or such.

It's difficult to find a good business, and even more difficult to find good help to run it. If any of you would like a name of someone to talk to that will take care of you, let me know. Internet orders are most likely handed by someone pushing paper for $8.00/hour, not a salesperson who counts on commission. There is a drastic difference in the level of service you will recieve.

Good Shooting.

You can mention my name to them. Rich Zuchowski. I didn't try to hide the fact that I was pissed about the way they handled the situation. And the impression I got was they didn't really give a rat's ass anyway.

Rich,
That sucks that you got bad service. Like I said, I don't do much online as far as buying stuff simply because I don't have anyone to go back and blame it on in person.

I guess what I meant to say was, if you want the name of a bonafide salesperson there, not a paper pushing interweb order handler, I'd contact either Gil, or Craig at the Ogden store. Those two guys are about as knowledgeable as I've found, and always make sure to take care of me and my wife when we go there. Quite possibly because we've spent so much there that they could finance alot of their year just on our commisions.

I've had bad dealings with certain places in Utah, and in Wyoming. I guess it's hit and miss sometimes. It's like this, one time I went into a chain store, (Sportsmans Warehouse) and got great, knowledgeable service. Went back the next day, after having got clearance from the boss.... yeah say what you want, you probably check with the wifeoid first too hehe... and went to buy the Kimber Raptor I've always wanted that I got great info from with the first guy... lo and behold, he was off... and I dealth with a twit that didn't know the danger end from a hole in the ground. Hit and miss... like I said, sometimes you find a diamond in the rough, other times you find a retard with a gun! (albeit an unloaded one, hopefully). I've worked retail management for about 15 years, (restaraunts and video rental District management) and it is just close to the hardest thing in the world to find good reliable help that will stick around for very long. The manager of Impact would probably like to hear your story. I won't be presumptous and tell your story, but I'd guess you might want to contact him. It may also be that it's not worth your time, and in that case, so is life.

Personally, I can't fathom buying a weapon that I haven't personally handled, checked for tool marks, looked at the bore, checked the feed ramp, all that stuff. I guess I will learn a bit from you all, see if ordering some of the things I'd really like to have, but can't get locally is worth the risk. Thanks for the info and the forum. I like what I see so far.
