I used to deal with ACE Hardware when they had a local store.
Now it's the local Tool-Marts'(Lowe's or Home Depot).

The trend that really sucks with the bigger places is the "sameness" of them a sameness too close to a Wally Mart.
I used to like the local Ace's because it was more apt to carry stuff like sand blasting sand, more tools actually made in the USA and a bigger variaty of fastners. Not to mention "hobby" sized metal stock.
Now I gotta run around to 3-4 different stores and maybe even mail order to get all that stuff.
Ain't a local diverse and booming economy a grand thing?

Lee Valley Tools.
Not sure if they exist in the 'States. Actually I'm pretty sure they don't.
Nothing but quality tools. I can't afford to be using a hollow hammer or a saw that breaks so I'll pay for something that works right.

I agree I always use either Estwing or Plumb hammers.

well, we/I used to have a "pay-less-cashaways" ensemble in my neck of the woods, and all the contractors did the [bis'nis] with them!,,,,not NO MORE.
[and I'll take 'connie stevens' OVER 'john madden' ,,,ANYDAY!] :dgrin:

Home Depot or Lowes usually. Lowes Cobalt tools are pretty good, and they carry other name brand stuff.
