Greetings Everyone,

This morning I awoke to the roar of a police helicopter circling over our neighborhood. This is not that rare here in the gang capital of the world, but my first thoughts were of my late father's S&W .38 Chief's Special, resting safe and loaded in my wife's bedside table, and the just bought, never used Mossberg 8-shot Defender, still in its box in the closet. That helicopter reminded me to to get off my butt and take my wife and our firearms to the range.

Then I signed on to Armslocker.com for the first time.

Sincerely,

ravingdave

Welcome to the board.. Great old revolver the model 36 S&W Chief. I like to take my grandfathers old model 60 out to the range every now and then.

Yeah, give the wife some range time with your guns. Never know when you might need her guarding your back some night.

Welcome to the site.

I have a vacation home in SanDiego, but my main residence is just outside of town on 4 acres with a pond. For 15 years I have traveled to SD 2-3 times a year to enjoy the weather, the activities...everything outside. But in the last few years due to unfriendly people, untrained and out-of-control kids, less than adequate police enforcement, my house has been robbed twice and ransacked twice, even though I have security lights, chain link fences, window bars and all double deadbolt steel doors. My beautiful house with its orange, lemon, and palm trees has become a fortress. And Because of Ca's lack of CCW, I am unarmed, except for a pellet rifle. And 2-3 times per day I hear helicopters flying overhead. And they call SanDiego Americas Finest City! I actually enjoy going home to Ohio where I can carry my gun, enjoy my gun collection and shoot varmints outside my back door whenever. Am I just getting old or is society just going to hell in a handbasket?

To Brass Hammer, I.m not getting your drift. Correct me if I misunderstood you, but I think you're on my side and that I need a good .38 revolver. I have every configuration of .38 you could conceive, but none in California. If you shoot to defend yourself in Cal. you.re a murderer.

I understand that the CA State Government is proposing a law to make spanking a child a punishable offense? What next, gang murderers will get a 10 minute "time-out", crack-dealers will be soundly yelled at, illegals will be given automatic citizenship. I'm taking my whole family to the range!!!!!!!!

Really good post Friend
