the 'hunt' started off quite well, as when I rolled-open the garage door at zero black-thurty,I was 'greeted' by a pair of them, and after a 'bribe' of a half-can of future 'vinnie-poo-food',,,I was allowed to make it to the truck door!!![no-****]
the marine-buddies are cool, as after 'gear/weapons/comms' checked-out!
we were on line[50 yards spacing] and would sweep the washes/draws/fingers
with the rising sun at our backs[naturally, me being a 'lefty' put me on the right-flank!!!,,,nothing new to me.]
the weapons we carried/humped/fired, were GRADE-A black 'TERRORIST-TYPES',,,as in a-r 10, car-15,c.e.t.m.e.,a-k 47[5.56] AND THE WELL RECIEVED
korean K-2[guess-who?],,,FRIENDS! we wer'nt HUNTIN',,,we were conducting
SMALL UNIT OPERATIONS,,,by d+2 :dgrin:
now, I've always hunted with older gentlemen, but this time I was one of the 'old-guys',,,and they 'snickered' at my mint late 70's-era cammies/WHERE'S yer' m14?,,,,[I snapped-back,as in, "BOYS, THE DAY YOU STARCH A ****IN' COVER, IS THE DAY YOU CAN 'laugh' AT ME!!!,,,they bowed thier heads, ha!]
we 'scored' [1] pig, missed another, and I DIDN'T CHAMBER A ROUND UNTIL NOON ON THE FIRST DAY![go-figure],,,but seen a '****-load' of mulies, and white-tails![I did 'drop' the hammer on a EMPTY CHAMBER of a couple of doe's from 200yards with my 22-250]
as in the afternoon, after beers/M.R.E.'S,,we would break-out the DREADED 'sniper-rifles'.
must-have-gear
1]camel-back waterbladder[great piece of kit]
2] good boots[my desert danner's are the best I'VE ever found]
3] a 'tactical' weapons sling[friends, after utilizing one, YOU won't understand, just how YOU wielded a fusil in the PAST!and trust me on that-one.]
4] rubber-armored bino's[the smaller the better, although, I'm not talkin' the $12 'made in china' crap.]
5]ANY BELT-PISTOL lighter than a 'c-z 75' w/ 48 rds[3 mags][as after the first 15 miles of humping/trugdin' with it ! I'M tryin' to get these guys to shoot-it just to lighten my carry-load from my O-V 1 pilots-vest! :roflmao1: ]
all-n-all, it was a 'blast'[and I 'almost' wished I had my old wood-handle pick/e-tool and M 60 MACHINEGUN with me,,,er,,,ah,,,BRIEFLY!]
on a factual side-note, when I came home AFTER NOT 'killin' ANYTHING, THE WHOLE-HERD, WALKED UP OUT OF THE WASH AND GREETED ME!!![no ****in' ****] :wavey:
