Every ones busy with their own lives, that's the way things are. But just give a minute to ponder the sacrifices our guy's did. My personal one is a patrol base in II Corps in May of 1970. Took a couple of mortar rounds about dusk, and I was going from foxhole to foxhole telling the "Men" , Boy's, actually, that we were bound to get a ground assault when it got dark. One MAN, who looked about fifteen, said, " Sergeant, their going to be real sorry they ****ed with the First Cavalry." He was looking out from under his helmet with a dirty face and snuggled up to his M-16, with magazines and grenades piled up next to him. I will never forget it. We did get a ground assault which artillery, air support, and small arms chopped to shreds. The MAN later received a Silver Star for another action. That's what our guy's are made of. Just take a minute.
