Anyone ever seen one close up or use one?

I got to examine one about a year ago and thought it looked like a good clear scope.

Reason is I got one on order and it will be here soon, I hope. Latest shipment has to wait to clear customs. :headbang:

I got one of the newer models the BK81001 a 4-16x50 Illuminated Milling reticle.

I would post a pic but their web site is kinda FUBAR on newer pics as far as what's what. In fact the model# of mine is not even listed there.

But it will be kinda of close to this:

I've never seen one, but SniperCentral seems to have an article on it:

http://www.snipercentral.com/milletttrs.htm

1/8 MOA clicks are a pain for tactical use IMO.

DW- Thanks for that link. That is exactly what I got coming.

I hope mine does not leak light from the illuminator like that one though or it will be going back.

It seems to very nice scope and the reviewer likes it. I hope that it works out exactly like it should for you.

I have that scope on my .308 except mine is a 6-25x 56. I think it is a very good scope. It is almost as clear as the leupold. I haven't had a chance to figure out the mil-dots or to make sure that turning the turrets and then turning them back brings the rifle back to it's original zero. In my opinion that is the most important thing about a scope. I do know that once I set the zero it stayed that way for 4 trips to the range- about 200 rds so far.

Looks like a pretty nice scope. Pretty much a good rule of thumb to go by with optics is cost. Cheap scopes are just not going to give you quality. You REALLY get what you pay for with optics. I've bought used rifles with cheap assed optics on them that I just tossed into the trash. Learned my lesson long ago by wasting my time trying to sight in a rifle with a cheap scope that had the reticle bouncing around about every third shot. I was about to go insane before I decided to just try a different (better) scope.

Never again....

Lately, $300 scopes are in an excellent price point that will give excellent quality for the price. If you're paying way under $100 for a scope, you are better off knocking out the glass and converting it to a duck call.

One thing for sure is that if this was any of the older Millet scopes I wouldn't touch'em with a 10ft pole.

This model is supposed to have coil springs for the adjustment knobs istead of leaf springs. Which in theory is supposed to prevent the adjustments from walking better.

From searching around they do seem to be very willing to take feed back on their scopes and have a great customers service dept.,.

Anyway if this thing does not live up to my expectations I'll put it on the .22LR trainer I'm gona do for my M1A and just get an Illuminated Mk4 for that.

Update on Millet but not this scope.

As I've not received it yet.

I'm not happy about this at all the gunshop I cut this deal with was supposed to let me know something today about it but I got zip from them. :unhappy:

I'm about to call them first thing in the morning and if I do not get word that it's coming cancelling the order.

If so I'll Probably go with the Burris XTR, 3-12x50 Tactical w/Illuminated retical.

Final update:

Well I since the Millet "2 Weeks" model as I'm calling it now will not be shipping for another 2 Weeks I bit the bullet and will be getting the Burris XTR 3.5-12x50 Tactical.

Quit a bit more cost but probably better in the long run.

Magfed that looks like a Remington model 700 PSS. Is it .308? It looks like a different bolt though, did you have some work done to it? Did you do the camo yourself? Nice job.

Hey guy's sorry for the delayed response, been busy training and working but thanks for the kind words. To answer soom ???'s the tactical bolt handle and the bottem metal with detachable mag are both products of Badger Ordinance and I installed them both, no there not drop in parts. Theres no other Custom work done to her other than what you see but to be completly honest the thing shoots 3/4 min all day if I do my part.

Here's a 300 yard group, best this rifle has done. she normally averages 3/4 min though. Oh and since this thread is about the scope I'd have to say the scope plays a big role in achieving these types of groups.

I got to look at one up close today at a gun shop and I was very less than impressed.:unhappy:

The optical quality or lack of made it look like there was a goldfish inside the scope! And with a nice big proud looking inspection tag on the outside made me woder what's going on here!

I also saw one of their new "Zoom Dot" optics it was okay for a chink made red dot but not $250 okay about maybe $100 - $120 at most. :-punch:

IMHO the best thing going for them are the other tactical Scopes in their line and their standard red dot optics.

I was going to get one of the Millett LRS1 scopes, but since they were not highly rated. I just got another Falcon scope instead. I have a trs 1, I really like it. but movement is limited and the 1/8 MOA adjustments are a serious pain. But they hold zero, and adjust the way they are suppose to.

Falcon is still my favorite!
