One of my pen names is Shig Takada, and I contributed to the Warriors book by Loren Christensen...that's a good start that's relevant to survivalism.

What Year and style of Corvette do you wash? I just purchased a new 07 coupe in Victory Red. I drove it 500 miles in three days and washed it twice. Am I overdoing it? Its a shame the tires have to get dirty....

Actually we have two. A 2002 C5 electron blue Z06 and a 2007 C6 silver coupe.

The C5 Z06 is turbo charged....

Heck no, you're not overdoing it at all! Few things look worse than a dirty Corvette. Few things look better than a properly detailed RED Corvette. You do know that you shouldn't wax or polish the finish until the paint has cured for about three months, don't you?

These cars were MADE to be driven and enjoyed, not just put into a garage and stared at. With 500 miles under your belt, it's only now got the engine through the break-in period. Now you can really DRIVE it. I've got some new Z06 sway bars to put onto the C6 when I get the time. The stock sway bars are a bit on the wimpy side. Not bad, but they could be better.

If you want, stop by my Corvette site and say hello to the folks there.... http://www.CorvetteFlorida.com. :D

Anyone from Washington State here?

I was born in Ellensburg! Lived there till I was about 12, we then moved to Oregon. I've been to many parts of the US and ended up back here in Oregon.

The tragic thing about my area is it's beauty retains and attracts people...our growth is incredible.

Back in the 1980's I could drive from Lakewood to the University of Washington during the commute in 38 minutes on a good day, about 45 on a bad day. I don't think you could do that regularly under an hour. Not only much more traffic, but a lot of bad drivers, mostly from California.

Back then you could be in Seattle, in the forrest, out on Puget Sound fishing, with in minutes.

I know how you feel, I went back last summer after staying away for about 15 years and did not recognize the place...
Seems that that many newcomers ar kalifornia escapees that expect an entitlement where ever they go...Then they try to change the place to what they were running away from!!

Last month I looked at a house with a friend, knew it was close to the Bothell shooting range,... Google earthed it, and realized it was just up the hill from it, less than a quarter mile. No big deal for me, however the noise may get abnoxious sometimes. When I looked at it, it was early morning, when my friend took her husband back that afternoon, it wasn't to quiet. He said that it wouldn't work for entertaining out on the patio. Everyone would be diving under stuff. I suggested he could make his patio look more like a bunker,....he laughed...

The Californians bring what they want to get away from, traffic and drug use...they're an amazing blight.

Not as bad as New Yorkers, but we get them too...

Too bad we can't close the borders, but I bet ya a million that the Indians felt that way too!
