Things are starting to speed up here. We just got back from a 21 day field exercise in northern Kalifornia. Damn it was cold up there. I never thought I'd be so glad to get back to the barracks. Snoring seems like no big deal after waking up in a fox hole with your poncho covered in frost. Our battalion is already ahead of the curve in regards to our capabilities though, so it was a good test of our abilities as a mobile construction force. We had our perimeter cinched up so tight that our aggressors couldn't even get inside the wire. I'm happy to say, that while us "****in' reservists" kicked the SRG's (Seabee Readiness Group) ass, our Acitve Duty sister battalion was overrun and failed. :laugh01: I guess wisdom and motivation do win out over youth and cockiness. We're being allowed to go home for Christmas as a reward for our performance in the field. I can't wait, I've got a lingerie clad wife and a case of Blue Moon waiting on me. :D Once we get back to the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia our training kicks into high gear, we'll only have about 5 to 7 total days off between getting back and heading down range. Can't wait though, live fire, MOUT, Convoy Operations, Vehicle Defense, Vehicle Assaulting......fun stuff!!

I'll post more when I can.

God bless, and everyone have a safe and merry Christmas.
