I'm going to get a picatinny rail for my PT1911. I use the pistol for home/auto protection, as does my wife. And I'm also about to buy a .357 SIG XD.

My question is this; Who makes a very reliable, bright, user friendly(remember the wifey), and attractive light, or light/laser combo?

Would you go with just a light, or the laser and light combo?

My wife is an excellent shot at the range, but in a real life situation I'm leaning towards the light and laser combo.

Give me your thoughts....

I use the Streamlight TLR-2 light/laser combo on all my rifles & pistols (except for the shotty). A single switch on the back sets what the rocker or tapeswitch activates: Laser only, light only, or both laser & light. 80 lumens is bright enough for my needs and it's very affordable (paid just over $200 for my last TLR-2). However, if a laser isn't needed and/or you're on a budget the TLR-1 (same thing minus the laser) is running less than $100 nowadays. HTH...
