Well, we've been a busy little bunch of bees. We just finished our MOUT (Military Operations on Urban Terrain) and CQB (Close Quarters Battle) training, and now we're preparing to head out to the field again. We're supposed to be doing convoy and crew served weapons training, but we're all a bit skeptical, considering the latest reports say that all of the ranges at the base we're headed to are closed due to road and trail washouts. I'm sure we'll get in some decent training regardless, but not nearly as much as we'd all hoped for. As for the MOUT and CQB stuff we just finished with, it was a blast. The looks we all got as platoon sized elements of Seabees in full combat gear and weapons ran around the streets of NBVC clearing buildings and vehicles were hilarious. We're no SWAT team, but we've got a good base to build upon in our small unit training. We should be wheels up pretty soon, so the real posting should begin shortly thereafter. Take care and Hooraah!
