I have a really nice 1911 that was extensively redone. No pics though...and it's 1300 mi S of me. My Government won't let riflemen keep rifles in the barracks (Knowing the idiots that live here, I can't really blame them).

Very fine rifles.
I am not sure of right at his moment but they were still being produced in a hunting version. BTW as to workmanship the last cost of getting a new one here in the states about 3-4 years ago was around $1000.
So the milsurp one are a very great buy IMHO.

I was not aware that a spoter version was produced. I don't doubt its craftmanship given the military models are very well made. I would love to see what the sporter version looks like. Last time i shot my K31 it had very good accuracy and trigger pull wasn't really bad for a mil-surp rifle.

I would consider them to be very rare here in the USA.
I don't have pics or specs but was made aware of it's existance by a relative of a fellow who runs one of the Swiss Rifle forums.
BTW- You also may find it interesting that one chambering was .300WM.
I had a few in my time as well here's a pic of the last one I owned.

Your rifle looked like it was in real decent shape. Nice rifles but the damn ammo cost to much so it makes it real hard to enjoy the K31 if you can only pick up a box or two of twenty rounds. Thats why my K31 hangs on the wall.

7.5 mm? I have never seen one of these before. It looks kind of klunky to handle at first glance, but if the Swiss made it, it has to be a real shooter.

Yes the swiss service round was 7.5 x 54mm. The srtaight pull action is not that bad to use and didn't take me much time to get used to. I can empty the magazine rather quickly using the straight pull action.

Thanks much. So does the bolt handle actually pull straight back and then straignt forward as you post implies? I'm really not trying to be stupid. I really don't know. I do like the ring on the hammer. I think it would make decocking safer. I assume that it can be decocked like the Mosin-Nagats.

Its as simple as that to chamber a new round and the decocking piece works smooth as butter unlike the Mosin Nagants.

Just because you occasionally have to use a sledge hammer to decock a Mosin does not mean that they are not smooth. It just means that the rifle does not want to be decocked in that manner.:)

I know what you mean.. It can be a bugger and tuff on the old finger tips. When ever I shoot my Russian m44 it feels like im holding a club.
