Hello all,and God Bless ALL Here!I'd like to see a little more involvement along these lines....it does NOT have to be H2H related, butcan be along the lines ofideas;comparative analysis an dprogress of just what we do or try to do.
So, just to be a minor annoyance on a hot ,working Monday;what say we all try to bring something to this table. It can betutorials on conditioning;technique,re hab for injuries ,nutrition, lab quality drugs and understanding young ladies from the escort service...Oh ,wait a minute:nyah:

I measure the productivity of my workouts by how I feel afterwards...
Work till it hurts. Since I've been back in the gym (month or so?) I've made some excellent gains just by sticking with the basics (squat, bench, deadlift, + odds & ends). I've also found that putting on muscle has done nothing but improve my conditioning; I'm feeling much more explosive.
For cardio I find that high intensity running & bagwork is much more fulfilling than going jogging for an hour. My conditioning workouts take about 20-25 minutes only but I get a LOT of work done by running up hills and mixing in bodyweight exercises.

You are right about putting on muscle and the benefits to explosive movement-sprinters are often VERY strong.Whether you build /maintain muscle by free iron or body weight work( I happen to like going back and forth between the two)you are still trying to get the fast twitch muscle fibers firing...that becomes a way to get the nervopus system to fire mor efficiently.
Some folks think cardiovascular health/endurance is separate from strength;or that "cardio" is "best served by LSD-long slow distance"
I prefer to mix things up quite a bit;even when I am in my "White Trash Yoga" stage ( body weight circuits after a run or machine cardio). I used to lift weights;I most likely will do so again. The last two months I have been racing the clock ( odd hours at work ) and favoring some old bone breaks. So,a typical gym day would be 30-45 minutes of resisted cardio, followed by 4-6 circuits of the following:Hindu Squats,Pull ups/Chinups,HIndu Push Ups, and 30 second bridges. ALternate days, rest from the pulling motions and add in regular or finger push ups and table makers ( floor dips). In another week or so; I will probably go back to working in the bench-squat Romanian deadlift, and clean and jerk to farmer's walk variations on alternating days.
Oddly enough, when called upon to exert force in different situations I have not lost a step, but my appetitie is HUGE,even more than when I was lifitng heavy. And no,I am not a big guy;5'8 , and 146-150 most of the year 9 I get a little skinnier in the summer).
