Laser protection for your eyes?

Blindness, either temporary or permanent, is one of the things that really scares me. Is there any eye protection available to civilians to defeat lasers? Seems like the eyewear would have to operate over a broad spectrum since the devices operate over so many frequencies.

Thanks

RIKA

RIKA, military grade laser eye protection glasses are sometimes advertised by surplus websites. Another excellent source of laser eye protection would be scientific equipment sellers. I'll try to find a few links and post them.

Lasers are just one small hazard to our eyes, and we should protect our eyes against everyday hazards, too.

Thanks GB. I'm sure that lasers wouldn't be an issue in a disaster or shtf situation but any knowledge learned on a subject is never wasted. The articles you listed were very interesting and informative. I wonder if there are any military surplus protective goggles on the market. Will have to look.
