in combat are a LOT more common than are full pattern hits on the chest. Which is one of the main reasons that the shotgun aint even CLOSE to being as good a manstopper as the ignorant THINK it is. Each 00 buck pellet is about the same effect as a .38 lrn hit, so 3-4 such pellet hits naturally dont amount to much, just like the 3-4 38 lrn hits don't amount to much, when it comes to immediately shutting down a determined man.

See, WHY guys choose buckshot, is so they CAN get a partial pattern hit. If they COULD count upon getting centered-pattern hits, they could be using the far more versatile 223 auto rifle, instead of the very limited-use shotgun. However, they KNOW that they aint fast and accurate enough with the rifle, so they COUNT on the pattern-spread of the buckshot to make up for their lack of ability.

Well, yes, a man's 1/2 pattern hit with OO is going to do a lot more damage to you than your miss with a .223 will to him.

If shotguns are so ineffective, I find it interesting how people sh!t their pants when facing ones, and even the loudest mouthed felons become meek and SILENT when they stare one down. They're not ineffective, it's just another thing you're scared of and have been BESTED by.
