why "think" .40 short and weak, 180 grs 950fps, amounts to a hoot? Considerably smaller in diameter, less likely to expand, and a tad lighter, so it won't even be AS effective as the .45 jhp is. Hell, 200 gr .45 jhp, at 1000 fps is nothing much, really, and animal testing will prove it. Sometimes it expands really well in flesh, sometimes it doesn't. the diameter of the .45 hp's cavity is larger than that for the .40, so it's more likely to expand than the .40 is, at the same speed.

230 grain JHP probably won't bounce off your skull, but I'm sure someone would volunteer to test the theory.

JD, you're really behind on your hollowpoint knowledge. It's very 1970's to early 1980's. The new bullets aren't that much of an 'if' as they tend to expand almost every time, even with 230gr hollowpoints.

Right. Modern 230 grain JHP .45ACP expand extremely well even from Commander length barrela.
