the record is held by a woman, averaging 40 miles per day, 2160 miles on the AT. She had no support, she had food, etc, sent to park ranger cabins, but they are few and far between.

having food sent ahead, is the very definition of support, the equivalent of chopper resupply that you always claim we will need. The stops and stations aren’t that far apart and most PCT hikers have stuff sent to them.

I’ve looked into it - I was going to plan a hike, but decided I won’t give a dime to CA if I can avoid it. Plus their gun laws suck.

Yeah and unfortunately I'm not sure how sketchy that the Appalachian Trail is in many states anymore as far as gun laws.
