which is the MINIMAL size that will truly handle rapidfire with a full charge 308 load, and only because 4" more of the can is telescoped back around the barrel. It weighs a minimum of 1.5 lbs, tacked onto the 13 lb (loaded, scoped, and bipod) A single shot 12 ga, with a 36" long barrel is 50" long, and everyone regards such a shotgun as being RIDICUOUSLY long for any sort of stalking or work around vehicles or brush. :)

Using a noisy gun, instead of a quiet one, is just stupid, when against hostiles, with no help, no safe base to run to, no chopper evac, no med care, no air strikes to call in, when you are quite likely to bite off more than you can chew. The military snipers can get by with a noisy bolt action, but the civilian survivalist is just flat out stupid to do so.

The classic transition from the 42" M1A with added suppressor to the "pos" bolt gun with a 50" 12ga single shot added in the middle. Amazing that andy could have typed this post while wearing his dribble bib. Amazing control for the gungeezer.
